01 Campus Experience: University of

Founded in 1559 by Jean Calvin and Theodore de Beze, the University of Geneva is the third largest haute école in , and is among the top 60 best universities in the world. The institution enjoys worldwide recognition and is highly open to the world. Every year the university welcomes more than 16,000 students in its nine faculties teaching science, medicine, humanities, economics and management, social sciences, law, , psychology and educational sciences, translation and interpreting. The University of Geneva has been a member of the League of European Research- intensive Universities since 2002.

Totally integrated in the city, the University of Geneva is spread over almost 10 sites. During this Campus Experience, two iconic buildings will be visited: Uni Bastions and Uni Mail. The tour comprises a welcome address to participants by the or Vice- Rector, and by the Director of the International office. The presentation will provide an overview of the university’s history, structure, policy, educational and research activities, including information about its innovative programmes. Following lunch, participants will visit faculties and facilities in small groups. At the end of the day, there is ample time to meet and network with staff members of the International office and with students.
