KUMAR KUNAL Ph No.: 7135044627.E-mail: [email protected] Academic Qualifications • Pursuing Masters in Mechanical Engineering at University of Houston Current GPA: 4.0/4.0 • Graduated in May 2006 with B.Tech in Mechanical engineering from IIT Guwahati CPI (Cumulative Performance Index): 8.24 / 10 B.Tech Project Title – Modeling and Shape Optimization of Flexible Manipulator Proposed Work – The project had two main aspects- a) Numerical Modeling of the Manipulator to study its Dynamic behavior. b) Shape optimization of the Manipulator to improve the system performance. For the modeling purpose various numerical methods were explored. Mesh free method (MLPG) was tried out first but it was too time consuming. Finally FEM with a new type of shape functions were implemented for the modeling purpose. For Optimization purpose Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) was used. The manipulator was discritized into elements; the area of each was taken as the decision variable. We obtained profiles for the Manipulator, which showed a marked improvement in the system behavior. Guide : Dr. U.S.Dixit, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Guwhati Duration: August 2005 – April 2006 Computer Skills • Programming language : C • Software Knowledge : Matlab, MS Office, Adams, Solid Edge Work Experience • Summer Intern, Indian Institute of Science (IISC), Bangalore. Work Summary - I worked on the design of a novel sun tracking system for solar power generation. In most of the traditional design, the receiver is attached to the concentrator. This is disadvantageous in the case of heavy receivers. I proposed a novel design of sun trackers with fixed receivers. The work was presented as a paper in the National Conference on Machines and Mechanisms (NACOM) 2005. -

Career Development Services Brochure 2021-22
CAREER DEVELOPMENT SERVICES 2021 -2022 CDS CDS FROM THE DIRECTOR’S DESK Established in 2016, IIT Jammu began with 82 students in the B.Tech program. We are now a family of more than 800, flourishing in several disciplines of B.Tech, M.Tech and PhD programmes. We believe self discovery is the route to personal growth and our geography helps our stakeholders experience this in the most powerful ways possible. Our proximity to nature and the picturesque snow-capped mountains offer a great atmosphere for learning and leading, simultaneously. Creating an outstanding learning experience for our students remains our primary goal and the exceptional skills and experience our faculty brings to the table makes us one of the fastest growing 3G IITs in India. Practical skills coupled with a strong hold on theoretical knowledge is further empowered by our swiftly advancing lab facilities. However, last year posed a unique challenge. How do we create a lab experiment experience for our pupils who are tuning in from the computer screens? We got down to work and tried our best to offer lab experiments by virtue of professional photographers, camerapersons, skilled lab assistants and well-formulated experiment manuals. We noticed greater student participation and were able to impart the fundamentals of science and engineering that makes IITians stand apart in the outside world. The students of IIT Jammu are trained to build things from the ground up since the day they join us. They have seen the campus growing and have made essential contributions that will stand with us in the years to come. -
Annual Report 2019-20
R A M A N U J A N C O L L E G E ANNUAL REPORT 2 0 1 9 - 2 0 2 0 CONTENTS Principal’s Report 2 Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) 7 7th Annual Ramanujan Memorial Lecture 12 Faculty Achievements 13 Department Activities 70 Centres, Cells, Societies and Committees 101 Annual Result May/June 2019 144 Annual Report 2019 - 20 PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Dear colleagues, students and friends, Perhaps, for the first time the Annual Report of our college is not being presented by the Principal on an Annual Day. We are all going through strange and difficult times as a pandemic sweeps across the globe forcing us to reinvent and reorganise ourselves. As we battle the virus we also introspect about how we have construct- - ed our society both locally and globally and search for new ideas that will take us into a post pandemic future. I have the pleasure of presenting the Annual Report 2020 of Ramanujan College online for all of you to browse through at your leisure and learn of the many achievements of the institution in the past one year. Nevertheless, I would like to pin some of the major accomplishments of Ramanujan College for the year 2019-20. Since teaching came to an abrupt halt by the middle of March 20 and the syl- labus remained incomplete, the teachers of Ramanujan College took up the chal- lenge of completing the semester teaching work and preparing the students for the end semester exams earnestly. The teachers used all forms of online platforms to stay connected with the students and continue with the teaching learning process.
