Round 10 Saturday 29Th August 2020 E&D LITIS Stadium FAFC NEWS ROOM FAFC CHAIRPERSON FLOREAT ATHENA FC MATCHDAY PROGRAMME VOL 5 Season 2020 FLOREAT ATHENA FC v SORRENTO FC National Premier Leagues Round 10 Saturday 29th August 2020 E&D LITIS Stadium FAFC NEWS ROOM FAFC CHAIRPERSON Welcome everyone to E&D Litis Stadium. Special welcome to Sorrento SC President Mr Derek Harnwell, First team coach , Jamie Harnwell committee members, coaches, assistants, players, supporters and sponsors from both clubs. With two games left of the normal rounds, the top six is looking very congested and results can fall either way with movement up or down on the ladder. It sets up for an exciting and breath taking last few rounds. Season 2020 has been a very challenging year particularly with trying to maintain a steady cash flow, reinventing the product and managing the clubs overheads. Covid19 has definitely added to the pressures of managing the finances of the club. The board had been instrumental on taking early punitive measures with none other than our very own Treasurer Nick Farrell setting the pace. Our Treasurer is a partner of Cornerstone Accounting & Business Consulting which is based in Subiaco; a long term member at FAFC; coaches the Amateurs league team and a very passionate Blue and White fan. His management skills and advice has steered the club on the correct pathway and all board members have embraced the concept. I personally thank Nick on his volunteering role as the clubs Treasurer, Amateurs coach, (wannabe player) and overall a passionate sportsman. Furthermore, last Sunday and for the next few Sundays FAFC host the miniroos clusters. Last Sunday Britannia reserve was host to hundreds of players, parents volunteers and spectators. A big thank you to our Junior volunteers for assisting and organising the days events and for the next few weekends. Special thank you to Vince Caratozzolo foto enzo for providing the proffesional photos for the front cover of every matchbook edition. Good luck to all the teams and we looking forward to celebrating a great day on the park and afterwards in the clubroom. Thank you ET (Emmanuel Takoniatis) FAFC Chairperson PROUD SPONSORS OF OUR FAFC WOMENS AND GIRLS TEAMS Concept Drawings FAFC Change rooms FAFC NEWS COMMUNITY UPDATE THANK YOU TO OUR FAFC 2020 SPONSORS CLUB REPORT HEAD COACH VAS VUJACIC I would like to welcome the players, sponsors, supporters and officials of Sorrento to Litis Stadium for round 10 of the league season. Last week we continued with our good form with another good performance away from home against Inglewood. We showed patience and discipline to break down their stubborn defence. What was particularly pleasing was the collective effort defensively where we managed our 3rd consecutive clean sheet Sorrento will certainly be another tough game as they are looking to lock in a finals position. They are on a run of 6 games undefeated which highlight how difficult an opponent they will be. With 2 games remaining before the split I will be looking to again have the teams focus built around being positive in our playing style for longer periods in the game. We have been pleased with our competitiveness this season and it’s been great to see the high energy and commitment in training. I believe we have a team currently with a sense of pride in how they are perceived not just as a club but as a side in their own right. At the start of the season we set targets as a collective and we are very clear and honest as a group in what we need to still put in place to achieve these. I have communicated this week to the lads that Being this is our last home game before the split..we will be looking to repay the local support with a quality performance. The 2010/11 year has been a successful one continuing on from recent years under the stewardship of our former Chairman, Kevin Campbell, whom I must sincerely commend for handing the organisation on in such a fine state. As you will note from the financial statements that follow, we have continued to improve our financial position with a modest but handy surplus. Whilst a surplus is always nice, Football West is about much more than that. It allows us to trade through the lean times without the need for an overdraft facility. The breadth and extent of some our various programs never ceases to amaze me. Whilst on the subject of finances, the Board and I continue to be aware of the increasing cost of playing sport, and this season we were pleased to be able to put a freeze on the fees you pay to be part of the World game.
