[The Most Holy Trinity – page 81 in the Parish Mass Book] DAY FOR LIFE: The focus for the annual Day for Life this year is on the widespread problem of violence within the home and family – “The Scourge of Domestic Abuse.” Sadly the problem is not a new one in our society but, more recently, the spotlight has increasingly been shone on families where abuse has been a hidden secret with one member of a family causing untold misery to others. As a result of widespread concern about domestic abuse there are now many organisations, support groups, refuges and other forms of assistance. There is an information card available for everyone to take home, briefly showing how the Church in the is responding to this problem... … the annual collection to support charities that uphold Life, particularly those organisations and charities working in the area of domestic abuse, will be taken this weekend. ST RICHARD'S FEAST: The local celebration of the feast of St Richard of will be on Monday (postponed from Sunday). The annual Mass in Chichester Cathedral for Catholics in the area, including the staff and children from St Richard's Primary School, will be at 11.00am All are welcome from local parishes. On Thursday evening there will be a Solemn Mass for Corpus Christi followed by a Corpus Christi Procession into the Castle Grounds. Refreshments are available in the Cathedral Centre: all will be welcome. (N.B. The Solemnity of Corpus Christi will be celebrated elsewhere at the weekend.) MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION: Those who serve the parish as ministers of Holy Communion – assisting with the distribution of Holy Communion during Mass and taking Communion to those who are sick and housebound – are invited to renew their commitment and be re-Commissioned during Mass on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi next weekend. They will come forward to stand before the Altar to renew their promise after the 'Lamb of God' and before the distribution of Holy Communion. Hopefully we may hit on the ideal weekend as the summer progresses.
