The visit to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe is one of the most memorable experiences in every tour of Switzerland.

The construction of the Jungfrau Railway numbers among the most impressive achievements in railway technology. The brainchild of Zurich industrialist Adolf Guyer-Zeller, the railway was officially opened on 1 August 1912 after a building period of 16 years. It runs from Kleine Scheidegg through the Eiger to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe, Europe’s highest-altitude railway station at 3454 metres above sea level. Thanks to new and faster trains and only one intermediate stop in the tunnel, travelling time to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe has been reduced by approximately 15 minutes each way. In addition, the journey itself has become more flexible. As from 2016, trains to the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe run every thirty minutes.
