Milano, February 13 th , 2014 - The next edition of Milano Moda Donna was presented this morning at . The fall/winter 2014-2015 collect ions will be shown in Milan from Feb. 19 th to Feb. 24 th . The fashion-show programme and the numerous related events were illustrated to the press by the City Councillor for Fashion and Design, Cristina Tajani, the President of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana , Mario Boselli and the CEO of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, Jane Reeve. 64 fashion shows (of which 7 double shows and a collective show present ing 6 brands), 74 presentations for 73 brands, 8 presentations by appointment for 3 brands, for a total of 145 collections .

For the first time, a single c alendar of the events designed by “Milano Creativa” has been agreed upon, also thanks to the collaboration among the Municipality of Milan, Camera Nazionale della Moda, Cosmit and Altagamma . The new experimental calendar of the F/W 2014-15 collections is in Italian and English , and can be consulted through the portal of the Municipality of Milan. Furthermore, an App for smartphone and tablet will make it possible to visualize by date or by area all the cultural events as well as the fashion and design presentation s in an easy and intuitive manner. A useful tool for the fashion professionals to plan their week and avoid overlapping appointments and an indispensable one for visitors who wish to be updated in real time on the best opportunities available to enjoy their stay in Milan.

International fashion professionals arriving in Milan for the will be welcomed at Linate and Malpensa airports as well as at the Central Railway Station by big banners with the message “Welcome to Milan Fashion Week” meant to greet the arrival of journalist s, buyers, insiders and accompany them from their first moment in Milan . The calendar of Milano Moda Donna will also include prestigious events. Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana will host a Welcome Brunch for the international fashion professionals on the first day of the week. The Closing Cocktail organiz ed by the Municipality of Milan, CNMI and Elle International on February 24th will take place in the dazzling Sala delle Cariatidi of Palazzo Reale and will bid arrivederci to international fashion professionals, designers, eminent guests until the next Milano Fashion Week. Furthermore , Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, always keen to make the most of the alliance between Art and Fashion , will offer the most important guests an exclusive, tailor-made visit to the Exhibition “Wunderkammer. Art, Nature , Wonder yesterday and today” at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum.

Once again Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana will support the young promises of Made in through a number of events meant for them. The designers participating in the N.U.De. – New Upcoming Designer initiative , that has reached its 19 th edition , will be on the catwalk of the fashion-show hall at Palazzo della Ragione on February 24 th at 01.30 p.m. before a prestigious parterre of international buyer s and journalists. Right after them, the four winners of the 8th edition of the Next Generation contest will be on show: four new talents discovered by CNMI will be for the first time on the catwalk. Their debut fashion -show has been entirely produc ed by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana.

On the first floor of Palazzo Giureconsulti there is the Temporary Showroom, a space for the static presentation of the of the oufits by the young fashion designers who have been selected by the most important fashion contests and, during the whole week, in the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Box and the Canon Vip Lounge emerging designers will display their collections that are also going to be shown every day on via Mercanti, crea ting an event open to the public.

NEW IN THIS EDITION

“Passion, creation, obse ssion” a tribute to the emerging talents of Istitut o Marangoni . For the first time Fashion Schools will have their own space to display the excellence of the Italian education system: talented students from Istituto Marangoni will have the opportunity to give shape to what they have learned at school and to express their creativity through an installation.

Another initiative meant for young people will be the workshop “Talent D ay 2014. New Fashion Web Jobs: discovering the new digital professions” which has been developed together with Adecco Training, and will be held in the Sala Parlamentino at the Fashion Hub of Palazzo Giureconsulti on February 21 st at 9.30 a.m. Express ly for students who aspire to work in the fashion business.

“In 2013 the turnover of the industry dropped by only 1,8% and totalled about 59 billion 300 million Euros, whereas the surplus of the trade balance, thanks to an increase in our exports and a reduction in our imports , reached a record amount of 19 billion 200 mil lion Euros . NEW IN THIS EDITION:

Fashion shows will be streamed live on four screens located inside La Rinascente department store. Other screens will be positioned in the women’s fashion department on the fourth floor as well as on the seventh where the Food Hall commands a stunning view on the Duomo spires. The screens will allow the public and the shoppers to have a taste of the Milano Moda Donna 19/24 February edition.

It will also be possible to follow the live streaming of the Fashion Week on the CNMI website (www.cameramoda.it ) and the CNMI App : live streaming of the fashion shows , photo gallery as well as the press release s of every brand. A service meant to facilita te the work of qualified professionals and to allow the public to experience this new edit ion of Milano Moda Donna live on line.

As in previous editions, transfers will be made easier by a shuttle bus service that will take the accredited professionals to all fashion shows. Once again the Bike – Mi service will be at the disposal of the accredited press who will be able to use the eco- and user-friendly b ike-sharing service during the whole fashion week. Whereas Mercedes-Benz is to offer a VIP Courtesy Car service: cars will shuttle journalists to their destinations through the busy calendar of the fashion week.
