PROGRAMMKINO, NYMPHENBURGER STRASSE 31, TEL. (089) 55 52 55 (U1 STIGLMAIERPLATZ) MITGLIED DER GILDE DEUTSCHER FILMKUNSTTHEATER UND DER ARBEITSGEMEINSCHAFT KINO Transcendence e (D: Wally Pfister; Cast: Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, Paul Bettany) In this sci-fi mystery thriller that marks the directorial debut of long-time cinematographer Wally Pfister, Dr. Will Caster (Depp) is the foremost researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence, striving to create a ma- chine that possesses sentient and collective intelligence. Anti-technol- ogy extremists target him, but in their attempt to destroy Will, they in- advertently become the catalyst for him to succeed-to be a participant in his own transcendence. His wife Evelyn (Hall) and best friend Max Waters (Bettany), both fellow researchers, question the wisdom of this drive, and their worst fears are realized as Will’s thirst for knowledge evolves into a seemingly omnipresent quest for power. The only thing that is becoming terrifyingly clear is there may be no way to stop him.

The Invisible Woman e (D: Ralph Fiennes; Cast: Ralph Fiennes, Felicity Jones, Kristin Scott Thomas) Most of Charles Dickens’ acclaimed work as an author is well known, whether it’s »Oliver Twist«, »Great Expectations« or »A Christ- mas Carol«. What some may not know is that he had a young mistress named Nelly Ternan for 13 years right up until his death, something accounted by Claire Tomalin in her acclaimed novel, on which this handsomely mounted period drama is based. As Nelly (Jones) be- comes the focus of Dickens’ (Fiennes) passion and his muse, for both of them secrecy is the price, and for Nelly a life of ‘invisibility.’ Impres- sively directed, emotionally engaging British costume drama with a sensitive script, stunning production design work and terrific perfor- mances from a fine ensemble cast.

Muppets Most Wanted e (D: ; Cast: , , ) The ter- rific and highly anticipated sequel takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most ex- citing destinations, including , , Dublin and . But mayhem follows overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Con- stantine - the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for - and his dastardly sidekick Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. An entertaining sequel with plenty of clever gags, catchy songs, and celebrity cameos - would, once again, be proud, of this very funny, very silly, extremely well-made, colorful, joyous movie... It’s all great fun, and it’s all very, very Muppet.

The Other Woman e (Die Schadenfreundinnen) (D: Nick Cassavetes; Cast: , , Kate Upton, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) Acclaimed director Nick Cassavetes (»The Notebook«, »My Sister’s Keeper«) brings us a hilarious female revenge comedy, in which Carly (Diaz; »There’s Something About Mary«, »Bad Teacher«) tries to get her ruined life back on track after discover- ing her boyfriend Mark (Coster-Waldau; TV’s »Game of Thrones«) is married. But when she accidentally meets Kate (Mann; »This is 40«, »«), the wife Mark has been cheating on, she realizes they have much in common, and her sworn enemy becomes her greatest friend. When yet another affair is discovered (Upton; »Tower Heist«), all three women team up to plot mutual revenge on their cheating, lying, three-timing boyfriend/husband.

Bad Neighbors e (D: ; Cast: Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne, Dave Franco, Lisa Kudrow) From the king of R-rated comedies, Judd Apa- tow (»«, »The 40-Year-Old Virgin«, »Get Him to the Greek«) comes another disgusting, rowdy comedy with an amazing amount of heart, centering on a regular guy (Rogen; »Knocked Up«, »This Is the End«) and his family who have the bad luck of having to live next to a college fraternity house. This place of debauchery harbors an especially clamorous member (Efron; »The Lucky One«, »That Awkward Moment«) who makes their life most miserable. A well-written, uproariously funny and hugely commercial vision of in- tergenerational warfare, with Efron giving one of his most credible and intriguing performances in this winningly stupid frat comedy.
