Crissy Thomas-Taylor Vice President, Business Affairs NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Networks and Universal Cable Productions

Crissy Thomas-Taylor was named Vice President, Business Affairs, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment and Universal Cable Productions (UCP), in January 2008. In her current position, Thomas-Taylor handles a variety of business affairs efforts in connection with the development, production, marketing and exploitation of both scripted and unscripted prime-time television programming for the USA and SYFY networks, as well as the UCP studio. While she oversees Business Affairs for the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning drama Mr. Robot, Thomas- Taylor’s primary responsibility is Business Affairs oversight of USA and SYFY’s unscripted programming, including the popular unscripted series Face Off, the returning SYFY Presents Live From Comic Con and new series Big Star Little Star.

In addition, Thomas-Taylor also manages Business Affairs’ involvement in matters relating to advertiser brand integration and co-promotional deals for USA, SYFY and UCP. She also previously led all such involvement for NBC, Bravo, Oxygen and NBCUniversal’s Digital Studio. Since joining the department, she has been a key contributor to forming and refining various Business Affairs practices and policies.

From January 2006-December 2007, Thomas-Taylor served as Director of Business Affairs, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment.

Prior to that, Thomas-Taylor was Senior Counsel, Program & Talent Contracts for NBCUniversal. In that position, which she held from September 2004-January 2006, she was responsible for drafting and negotiating writer, director, actor, producer and other above-the-line agreements for NBC Studios, as well as pilot development and series license agreements for both NBC and USA networks.

After the NBC-Universal merger, Thomas-Taylor played a lead role in conducting post-merger best practices review of television contract forms for the company’s Program & Talent Contracts group. She also was the lead attorney responsible for drafting and negotiating long-form brand integration and trade-out agreements for the NBC, USA, SYFY and Bravo networks. She first joined NBC in July 2002 as Counsel, Program & Talent Contracts.

Thomas-Taylor has been named by CableFAX magazine as one of the Most Influential Minorities in Cable and recognized on multiple occasions as a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star in Entertainment Law by Law & Politics Magazine.

Thomas-Taylor is an active leader within NBCUniversal’s Black Employee Network employee resource group having served as its Professional Development Chair for multiple years and is also responsible for management of Business Affairs’ internship program for USA, SYFY and UCP.

Prior to joining NBC, Thomas-Taylor was as an attorney in the litigation department of Los Angeles-based Greenberg, Glusker, Fields, Claman & Machtinger LLP. She has also worked as an assistant story editor for Dreamworks SKG’s feature film division and as lead executive assistant for film producer Kathleen Kennedy, during which she worked on the -directed A.I.: Artificial Intelligence and the third-installment of the Jurassic Park film franchise.

Thomas-Taylor holds a J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where she served as a Managing Editor of the UCLA Law Review, and a B.A. in Communication Studies from UCLA with magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa honors. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and twin sons.
