Justine Grosman Is Joining KCS As a Grade 3 Homeform Teacher. Justine Has a Wide Range of Experiences in Teaching Justine Grosman is joining KCS as a grade 3 homeform teacher. Justine has a wide range of experiences in teaching. She began her career as a grade 3 classroom teacher at the Bilingual European School of Milan in Italy. She followed her two years overseas with two years at The Bishop Strachan School in Toronto. In September 2013, Justine then moved on to the Laboratory School at the Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study at the University of Toronto. Justine holds an Honours Baccalaureate in Arts in the area of Communication, and holds a Master of Teaching from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. She is married and has a young son. Please welcome Justine to our school when you see her over the coming months. James Cumming is joining KCS as a grade 6 homeform teacher. James has a wide range of experiences in teaching. He began his teaching career at Havergal College where he served for two years as a Teaching Intern and Teaching Assistant. James moved from Havergal to Bayview Glen where he taught both grade 4 and grade 7. For the last eight years, James has taught at Pickering College as a grade 5 homeform teacher. James holds an Honours Baccalaureate in Arts in Political Science and Urban Studies, and holds a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. He also holds his Part 3 Specialist certification in Health and Physical Education. He is married and has two daughters who are now attending university. Anthony Kolozetti will now be supporting technology integration throughout the school, teaching grade 4 science, and providing reading instruction in Workshops. Anthony will also be a regular writer for our social media channels. Anthony has been a grade 6 homeform teacher at KCS for 14 years and taught grade 6 science for his first seven years. Since joining KCS, Mr. K has also taken a team of Science Olympians from grades 4 to 6 to the annual Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario (CIS) Science Olympics. Judy Dunn Hoggarth, our teacher librarian, will be away on a sabbatical for the 2016/17 school year. Nishma Bharadia (Ms. B) will work alongside Kendra Cutting in our library, and taking on Mrs. Hoggarth’s duties while she is away. Many of you will know Nishma from her time at KCS. She has been a guest teacher here since September 2011, and she has overseen our After School Program for the past couple of years. Ms. B holds a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Carleton University, as well as a number of other additional qualifications in the areas of guidance, English, and special education. Julie Clement is taking advantage of our school’s four‐over‐five year program for the 2016/17 school year. Mr. Gregory Charlton will be teaching art to many of our grades while Madame Clement is away. Mr. Charlton (or Mr. C as he is known by many of us around here) has been a guest teacher for the past couple of years. Mr. C holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts: Drawing & Painting from the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) as well as a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education from the University of Toronto. Ms. Julia Catton joined KCS in June as our Marketing and Communications Manager after working as a communications specialist at the North York General Hospital and St. John’s Rehab Foundations. In her previous employment, Julia developed a variety of impactful communications and marketing materials, including direct mail solicitations, newsletters, event‐related media and annual reports to promote the foundation brand and raise funds for both hospitals. In addition, Julia guided the development and implementation of both foundations’ websites and social media plans in order to increase engagement. Julia graduated from York University with an honours Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications Studies. She also has her Bachelor of Education from Western. Please join us in welcoming our new staff to KCS when you meet them next month. .
