She has conducted scientific research in Peru and Canada and has pursued her interest in Integrative Medicine through Classical Hatha Yoga training in India. Currently she teaches Hatha Yoga workshops in Canada and South America. Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Claudia has travelled extensively in her homeland and has been involved with local communities, spreading the benefits of her education and skill set. She is passionate about the ecology and culture of her country and she is keen to show it off to others. Her vast curiosity has also led her to travels in in Europe, Latin America and Asia and she has studied and worked in Peru, Brazil, Belgium, England, the USA, Canada and India. All of these experiences have contributed to her easygoing and open-minded nature. She loves cooking healthy food, hiking and spending time at the beach. She also loves dancing “Marinera Norteña”, a Peruvian traditional dance that she has been practicing since age 5. Don't be surprised if you catch her practicing yoga in her free time! Claudia loves everything about travelling, and she believes that changes in one's landscape can rejuvenate the spirit. For Claudia, learning about different lifestyles and tasting new foods are enjoyable and gratifying experiences that can lead to an improved sense of overall happiness. With her strong organizational skills and her willingness to share her personal knowledge about different cultures, especially the ones from her home country, Claudia will make your travel experience something to remember. Claudia currently works at Alyra Expeditions to develop new trips in Asia and Latin America . She also coaches new Creative Organizers (COs). Created in 1999, the area of Pu Luong is 17,662 hectares.13,320 of these hectares are strictly protected while 4343 hectares are reserved for ecological restoration. Pu Luong is located along two parallel Karst mountain ranges with small and narrow valleys in the middle. For centuries, this place has been home to several different minority groups and a large agricultural land area. Most of the larger tribal villages are concentrated alongside the valley as their society is agriculture-based. The highest altitude is of 1,700 metres above sea level. The Tai ethnic group There are 24 villages of Muong and Tai people living in the valleys or flat mountainsides of the Pu Luong Reserve. The Tai of northern Vietnam number between 250,000 - 400,000. They have been living in northern Vietnam for over 1,200 years, having migrated from Yunnan province in southern China. Descending from the Tai family tree, they are related to the Thai of Thailand and the Lao of Laos and closely related to the tribal Black Tai or Tai Dam. The natural beauty of this area has been left unaffected by human interference. The man-made rice fields are perfectly designed to harmonize the landscape in between the valley and the emerald mountains. The terraced fields are particularly beautiful in Pu Luong valley. Thôn Báng Village Pu Luong is composed of 24 villages. Our host community is Thôn Báng at around 1000 meters above sea level. The village is composed of around 184 families that are divided in 5 areas. 85% of the population speaks Vietnamese and the 15% speaks Tai Vietnamiese. 95% of the population are agricultural - farming workers and 3% are local governmental workers. This community will open its doors to another culture for first time and they are eager to experience an authentic international exchange. The closest hospital is at Ba Thuoc at 24 km from the village (30 min) The medical center is at 5 km from the village (10 min) The police station is at 5 km from the village (10 min) The weather has a temperature range of 15 to 25° C.
