La fundadora y cantautora Amy Lee y el guitarrista Ben Moddy lo dieron a conocer con bombos y platillos para beneplácito de sus millones de fans alrededor del mundo. "La energía fue simplemente amplificada", con esas palabras Amy Lee anunció a todos su seguidores el nacimiento oficial de "The Bitter Truth", a través de unas declaraciones concedidas a la revista especializada, Rolling Stone. "Mi estado de ánimo, mi corazón, ha cambiado totalmente, ahora puedo escuchar todo el álbum y no escuchar nada que suene como un error o algo que todavía tengo que arreglar. Realmente, puedo disfrutarlo por primera vez, no puedo decir lo bien que se siente", añadió la intérprete. Mediante un comunicado de prensa, la banda también hizo una breve descripción sobre "The Bitter Truth". " Es una colección épica inspirada en la lucha, la pérdida y la superación dentro de las realidades del siglo XXI y de nuestro", manifestaron. Cabe señalar que esta producción fue realizada en sus totalidad durante la pandemia mundial provocada por el COVID-19. Aunque no dejaron luces durante los meses previos que tenían intención de sorprender a sus seguidores, vaya que Evanescence lo hicieron. Si bien en 2017 lanzaron "Synthesis", esta fue solo una recopilación de sus mejores trabajos a lo largo de su trayectoria con múltiples arreglos de orquesta y texturas electrónicas. "The Bitter Truth" será la puerta abierta a un esperado regreso por todo lo alto. .
