The Husker Sports Network has created a large network of state and national affiliates. All regular-season men's basketball games and any postseason contests will be broadcast on a 32-station basketball network in 2010-11. Among the Huskers’ opponents that reached last year’s NCAA Tournament were: Elite Eight participants Kansas State (twice) and Baylor, NCAA second-round qualifiers Kansas (twice), Missouri (twice), Texas A&M along with NCAA qualifiers Arkansas Pine-Bluff, Vanderbilt, Oklahoma State and Texas. HUSKERS TO ENTER BIG TEN IN 2011-12 Charges Taken June 11, 2010, was a historic day for the University of Nebraska, as NU was admitted to the Big Ten Conference Standhardinger-4; Ubel-2; Jeter-2 as the 12th member of the nation’s oldest conference. The Cornhuskers will begin play in the Big Ten in 2011-12. The Huskers have played Minnesota the most of any Big Ten opponent, as the teams have squared off 63 times dating back to 1902. BIG 12 PRESEASON POLLS The Big 12 comes off a season where it had seven teams make the NCAA Exceeding Predictions Tournament, including a pair of Elite Eight teams. After the top two teams, the Year Preseason Final remaining order was Baylor, Missouri, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, 2006-07 10th 7th Colorado, NU, Oklahoma and Iowa State. While the Huskers were picked 10th in 2010- 2007-08 10th 7th 11, Nebraska has typically exceeded the preseason experts during Doc Sadler’s tenure 2008-09 9th 8th 2009-10 11th 12th as Nebraska’s coach. ALCORN STATE (NU 78, ALCORN STATE 57) Four Huskers scored in double figures, including a team-high 16 points from Lance Jeter, as Nebraska picked up its fifth straight win, a 78-57 victory over Alcorn State. Jeter hit 5-of-9 from the floor and had season bests in both steals (seven) and assists (six), as his seven steals were one shy of Nebraska’s school record. He scored seven of his points in a 7-0 second-half spurt that gave Nebraska some breathing room after Alcorn State cut a 27-point lead to 63-48 with 5:20 remaining. Sophomores Jorge Brian Diaz (15) and Brandon Ubel (14) combined for 29 points in season-best efforts, while junior Andre Almeida added 10 points off the bench, as Nebraska (7-2) topped the 70-point mark for the fourth time this year. A hot-shooting Husker team picked up where it left off against Creighton, hitting 55 percent (17- of-31) of its shots en route to a 40-17 halftime lead. The Huskers worked the ball inside to sprint out to a 10-2 lead through the first 3 ½ minutes, as Diaz scored 10 of Nebraska’s first 22 points. Ubel, who tied his career-high with 14 points, gave the Huskers a spark out of the locker room by scoring all 10 of his second-half points in the first 6 ½ minutes. That lifted the Huskers to a 56-28 lead before Alcorn State guard Marquiz Baker caught fire to score 17 of his game-high 32 points in the final 13 minutes. Baker led the Braves (0-7) to pull within 63-48, before Jeter single-handedly stopped the run as he scored seven points in a 43-second span, capped by a steal and layup to put NU up 70-48 with 4:27 left.
