Historic Virginia Step Back in Time As We Tour Virginia, a State Replete with Historical Significance Historic Virginia Step back in time as we tour Virginia, a state replete with historical significance. The founding of the country will unfold before you in Jamestown and Colonial Williamsburg. We’ll see museums filled with artifacts of early American history and the homes of Thomas Jefferson in Monticello, James Madison in Montpelier, and Patrick Henry in Scotchtown. Virginia’s hospitality will also be evident in the dining experiences and impeccable hotel accommodations planned for this tour, including a day exploring Norfolk and Virginia Beach. This tour is perfect for history and architecture buffs, nature lovers, and students of the world. Day 2 - Jamestown Tour Highlights Today we begin with a visit to Historic Jamestown, • Historic Jamestown • Virginia Beach Mariners’ the actual location of the 1607 James Fort where Museum • Yorktown Battlefield archeologists continue their work today discovering • Thomas Jefferson’s • American Revolution secrets of how the settlers lived and unearthing long- Monticello Museum lost churches, homes, and grave sites. We continue to historic Williamsburg to check into the Williamsburg Lodge for our 4-night stay. We fly to Richmond, Virginia, enjoy a Welcome Dinner upon (B,L) arrival, and stay overnight at the Hilton Garden Inn. (D) Day 3 - Yorktown Today we see where America’s independence was won at the site of one of the last Revolutionary War battles, Yorktown. We’ll walk through the 18th century town and on the battlefield we’ll see numerous fortifications and canons; the Moore house, scene of the surrender negotiations; and Surrender field, among other sites. We continue to the American Revolution Museum to explore an immersive gallery of exhibits as well as outdoor re- creations of homes, farms, and battles. (B,L,D) Day 4 - Colonial Williamsburg An exciting day is planned in Colonial Williamsburg, an 18th century city known as the largest living history museum, boating over forty sites and trades, four historic taverns and two world-class art museums.
