THE LEICESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (B676 MELTON MOWBRAY TO BUCKMINSTER, IN THE PARISHES OF FREEBY, GARTHORPE AND BUCKMINSTER) (REVOCATION OF 30MPH SPEED LIMIT AND IMPOSITION OF 30MPH AND 50PMH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2017 The Leicestershire County Council ("the Council") in exercise of its powers under Section 84 and Part IV of Section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act") and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby makes the following Order:- 1. This Order may be cited as "The Leicestershire County Council (B676 Melton Mowbray to Buckminster, in the Parishes of Freeby, Garthorpe and Buckminster)(Revocation of 30mph Speed Limit and Imposition of 30mph and 50pmh Speed Limits) Order 2017" 2. The Order shall come into force on the fourteenth day of August 2017 3. That lengths of road as specified in Schedule 1 to this Order are hereby revoked 4. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 30 MPH on the lengths of roads as specified in Schedule 2 to this Order. 5. No person shall drive any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 50 MPH on the lengths of roads as specified in Schedule 3 to this Order. 6. The plans annexed to this Order and marked drawing numbers B676SPEEDLIMIT/1A AND B676SPEEDLIMIT/2B are for identification purposes only. SCHEDULE 1 Revocations The Leicestershire County Council (Various Roads, Districts of Melton, Charnwood and Harborough and Various Parishes in Leicestershire) (Revocation of 30 and 40 MPH Speed Limit and Imposition of 30 MPH and 40MPH Speed Limit) Order 1998 PARISH OF SAXBY Garthorpe Road (B676) - from a point 57 metres south west of where the south easterly facing wall meets the north easterly facing wall of Spinney Cottage, Garthorpe Road, in a generally northerly, easterly, northerly, easterly direction to a point 70 metres west of the boundary of the northern fields, An approximate distance of 582.5 metres Church Lane — from its junction with Garthorpe Road (give way markings), in a generally northerly direction to a point 50 metres north of the westerly unadopted road. An approximate distance of 181 metres. PARISH OF GARTHORPE Route the B676 Saxby Road & Coston Road, Garthorpe Village — from a point 53 metres south west of the Wymondham Road junction centre-line in a northerly then north easterly direction to a point 107 metres northeast of where the south easterly facing wall meets the north easterly facing wall of No.3 Coston Road(B676) an approximate distance of 376.5 metres. Wymondham Road — from its junction with Saxby Road (give way markings) in a generally easterly direction then southerly direction to a point 25 metres south of the River Eye centre-line. An approximate distance of 265.5 metres. COSTON VILLAGE Buckminster Road (B676) — from a point 146 metres south west of where the south easterly wall meets the north easterly facing wall of Highfield Farm, Buckminster Road, in a generally north easterly direction then south easterly direction to a point 44.5 metres south east of where the north easterly facing wall meets the south easterly facing wall of The Grange, Buckminster Road,. An approximate distance of 741 metres. Sproxton Road — From a point27 metres north west of where the south westerly facing wall meets the north westerly facing wall of Mill Farm, Sproxton Road in a generally southerly direction to its junction (give way markings) with Buckminster Road (B676). An approximate distance 152 metres. PARISH OF FREEBY Main Street from its junction with Waltham Road (give way markings), in a generally north easterly direction to a point 135 metres north east of where the south easterly facing wall meets the north easterly facing wall of Brook Cottage, Main Street. An approximate distance of 550 metres. Waltham Road —from a point 212 metres north of the Main Street junction centre-line, in a generally southerly direction to a point 381 metres south of the Main Street junction centre-line. An approximate distance of 593 metres. Sproxton Road - from a point 66.5 metres west of the boundary between numbers 9 and 10 Sproxton Road, eastwards to its junction with Back Street and Main Street (B676), a distance of approximately 235 metres. Back Street — (the whole length) from its junction with Stroxton Road and Main Street (B676) north eastwards then eastwards to its junction with Hall Road, a distance of approximately 470 metres. Hall Road — from its junction with Main Street/Stainby Road(B676) northwards to a point 73 metres north of the centre of the main access to Buckminster Hall, a distance of approximately 450 metres. School Lane — from its junction with Stainby Road (676) south-eastwards for a distance of 60.5 metres (approximately 72 metres from the give way line).
