Jones and Brooks became the first pair of first-ballot Hall of Famers from the same class who attended the same college in over 40 years. The pair’s journey together started 20 years ago. Just as Brooks was wrapping up his All-America career at Florida State in 1994, Jones was joining the Seminoles out of Holmes Community College (Miss.) for the 1995 season. He became a recurring character on 'Late Night with David Letterman.' A head injury left Nittmo so shattered that he walked out on his wife and four children. Years later, he continues to drop in, unannounced and unkempt, before taking off again. His estranged family wants him to get help before it's too late. Eleven years ago he stopped coming home to his wife and four children. The youngest was 6 months old. He had lost part of his memory and still complains about the constant howling in his head from a concussive whomp. He has filed for bankruptcy and faced at least six civil judgments or liens. At some point he began using a different name. There might be a sinister reason to take on an alias, or perhaps he simply grew tired of people asking if he was that Bjorn Nittmo. Yes, he’s the same guy David Letterman introduced in 1989 as “the only Bjorn Nittmo in the New Jersey phonebook.” In actuality he’s the only Bjorn Nittmo in the world, though he is more peculiar than even that. Nittmo was the left-footed, southern-drawled, Swedish placekicker the media treated like a geegaw from a Cracker Barrel store.

    The Ensley Athletic Center is the latest major facilities addition to the Lampe Athletics Complex. The $13 million building was constructed in seven months and opened in January 2015. It serves as an indoor training center for the football program, as well as other sports. A multi- million dollar gift from Cliff Ensley, a walk-on who earned a football scholarship and became a three-sport standout at Syracuse in the late 1960s, combined with major gifts from Dick and Jean Thompson, made the construction of the 87,000 square-foot practice facility possible.     FOR USE AS DESIRED NFL-PER-8 10/26/05 EAGLES SEEK TO KEEP NFC SOARING One of the highlights of the NFL’s Week 8 schedule is the interconference matchup in the Mile High city between the Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos. The Eagles are hoping to continue the NFC’s success against AFC opponents. Last week, the NFC posted a perfect 6-0 record in interconference games, including Philadelphia’s exciting 20-17 win over San Diego. The last time a similar conference sweep occurred was in 1998, when AFC teams posted a 5-0 mark in Week 2. The NFC leads the interconference series this season 17-14. Other Week 8 matchups pairing AFC and NFC teams: Green Bay at Cincinnati, Miami at New Orleans in Baton Rouge and Jacksonville at St. Louis.
