Knowledge Transfer

 NGOs’ Adoption and Use of ePayment Services in Hong Kong with Bank of East Asia (2015) I led a team of undergraduate students to conduct a research project for Bank of East Asia (BEA) on Hong Kong NGOs’ adoption and use of the ePayment gateway offered by BEA. We visited a number of representative NGOs and compiled a report for BEA to further refine their ePayment services for NGOs.

2. Organizing Out-of-classroom Activities

 NGOs’ Adoption and Use of ePayment Services in Hong Kong with Bank of East Asia (2015): I led a team of undergraduate students to conduct a research project for Bank of East Asia (BEA) on Hong Kong NGOs’ adoption and use of the ePayment gateway offered by BEA. I mentored a number of undergraduate student teams in business plan competitions, such as the HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards.  Undergraduate: Double-degree Students’ Final Year Projects I served as the program co-ordinator for the Double Degree Bachelor in Business Administration and Engineering from 2010 to 2018, during which I collaborated with engineering colleagues to supervise DD students’ final-year projects.  Postgraduate: MBA Students’ Investigative Reports I supervised 28 MBA students’ investigative reports  Doctoral Degrees: DBA/DMgt Students and PhD Students DBA/DMgt Students: I am supervising/supervised 18 DBA/DMgt (Executive Program) students. 1. Designing Subject/Program Curriculum

 New Subject Development: Introduction to Business Analytics (Undergraduate) This subject aims to expose students to the cutting-edge practices and technologies of business analytics. It focuses on the cultivation of a sense of viewing business problems from a data science perspective and critical thinking in business analytics.  New Subject Development: Technology Innovation and Management (Postgraduate) This subject is one of the electives of the MSc Program of Business Analytics. With the support of the Faculty of Business IDEAS Project, I collaborate with colleagues from Department of Computing and produced the following deliverables:  Inquiry-based Learning with Simulation and Gaming A new project on the development of simulation games for inquiry-based learning.  Using Board Game Design and Animation Creation for Learning Assessment A prototype and a conference paper at 8th IEEE International Conference on Engineering Education (ICEED 2016).

In the year of 2018/19, I led the department as the interim head with a vision of “Embracing the Digital Transformation of Management & Marketing”. The department has obtained a number of achievements as outlined below: o A new incentive scheme to improve GRF/ECS results: We implemented a new incentive scheme to improve the quality of MM colleagues’ GRF/ECS applications. We made significant improvements in both the number of successes and the success rate. We have 8 successes out 17 applications (a success rate of 50%) in the year of 2018/19 as compared to the 4 successes out of 15 applications in the previous year (a rate of 27%). o A new incentive scheme to improve HKPFS results: We implemented a new incentive scheme to stimulate MM colleagues’ interests in the intake of high-quality PhD students under the Hong Kong PhD Fellowships Scheme. We achieved 2 successes in 2018 as compared to 1 success in 2017. o Fund-raising with DBA/DMgt Alumni: We actively seek the potential opportunities to raise funds via our DBA/DMgt alumni network. We have secured a potential fund from Yanjing Beer Chamber of Commerce (燕京啤酒商会) to the Faculty of Business Digital Transformation Center. o The Journal of Marketing Research Development Workshop at PolyU, Spring 2019: Journal of Marketing is one of the top journals in the marketing discipline listed in the UTD journal list for business school research ranking. o The 2nd PolyU-AIS Research Development Workshop at PolyU: Jun 2019; AIS (The Association for Information Systems) is the global association of academics in the Management Information Systems discipline.
