John Hamlin and Greg Cole 5 Congratulations to Kevin Connors and Jim Schilling. You have impacted the lives of so many and culturally enriched even more! 6 MUSIC THEATRE OF CONNECTICUT MTC MAINSTAGE Dear MTC Friend, Welcome to our fourth production of the 2020-21 season! While this has been an unusual season to say the least, MTC has remained committed to our audience, members, and community to safely produce the award-winning theatre we have become known for throughout the past 34 seasons. While so many of our fellow theatres have gone temporarily dark, we have remained an active determined to continue our programming within all CDC, State of Connecticut and Actors’ Equity Association guidelines and continue to serve both factions of our audience with both live-in-person and virtual livestream mediums. So on to BECOMING DR. RUTH! In tonight’s performance, you will meet a pop culture icon – Dr. Ruth Westheimer. While so many of us remember Dr. Ruth from television appearances, her own show on Lifetime, or her WYNY radio call-in show, many do not know the incredible journey of her life. She is the very heartbeat of the word “survivor”, a symbol in overcoming the greatest challenges and overwhelming adversity – most of it wholly on her own. She is not only a self-made success story, but through it all, one of the most positive and inspiring people you’ll ever meet. Tonight you will hear that story. And at this challenging time in all our lives, Dr. Ruth reminds us that we can not only survive enormous challenges, but with positivity, determination and strength, overcome the odds and enjoy an even better life on the other side. I hope this production inspires you in the same as it has inspired me. Thanks as always for your support especially at this time, and enjoy the show.
