These walks are easy to complete and do not require special footwear. Most of the walks are suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. These walks are mainly flat and on surfaced paths, however they can become muddy in wet weather. These walks include rough terrain and steeper gradients, making them unsuitable for young children and the infirm. These walks are for the experienced rambler, are at high altitudes and require good compass reading skills. Walking boots, food and drink and appropriate clothing and waterproofs are essential. North Yorkshire County Council Executive 15 January 2019 Harrogate Congestion Study –Options Assessment Report Addendum Report of the Corporate Director – Business and Environmental Services 1.0 Purpose of Report 1.1 To provide an update on the progress of the Harrogate Congestion Study further analysis. 1.2 To set out the broad outcomes of the Options Assessment Report Addendum (OARA) 1.3 To recommend next steps, including potential public consultation 2.0 Background 2.1 Members of the Executive will be aware that a route for a Harrogate Northern Relief Road and Killinghall Bypass was approved by the County Council in the early 1990’s. Following a request from the County Area Committee for the Harrogate District a review of ‘the need for and alignment’ of the adopted relief road was commenced in late 2016. 2.2 As an early part of this study, initial modelling and appraisal was undertaken on various potential relief road options based on work originally carried out in the early 1990’s (see Figure 1 below.) This showed that of the alignments, the two inner relief road options provided the greatest benefits in terms of traffic relief. 2.3 As a result of development pressures, and based on information available from the initial consideration of relief road alignments the Executive recently resolved to rescind the protection of the Harrogate Northern Relief Road and a section of the Killinghall Bypass. The remainder of the Killinghall Bypass remains an adopted route. Figure 1 - possible relief road options considered in the 2017 Options Assessment Report 2.4 As an integral part of the study, work was also undertaken by the County Council’s partner consultant, WSP on looking at a range of other potential approaches for tackling congestion in Harrogate and Knaresborough (study area set out in Figure 2 below). -

RIVER QUALITY SURVEY NATIONAL RIVERS AUTHORITY NORTHUMBRIA & YORKSHIRE REGION GQA ASSESSMENT 1994 PART 1 REA CH CLASSIFICA TION FRESHWATER RIVERS AND CANALS VERSION 1: AUGUST 1995 GQA ASSESSMENT 1994 \ NORTHUMBRIA & YORKSHIRE REGION To allow the development of a National method of evaluating water quality, the rivers in all the NRA regions of England and Wales have been divided into reaches, which are numbered using a coding system based on the hydrological reference for each river basin. Each classified reach then has a chemistry sample point assigned to it and these sample points are regularly monitored for Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Dissolved oxygen (DO) and Total Ammonia. The summary statistics calculated from the results of this sampling are sent to a National Centre where the GQA Grades are calculated. A National report is produced and each region can then produce more detailed reports on the quality of their own rivers. For Northumbria and Yorkshire Region, this Regional Report has been divided into two parts. PARTI: REACH CLASSIFICATION This report contains a listing of the river reaches within the region, with their start and finish grid reference, approximate length, and the 1990 and 1994 GQA class for each reach. The reference code of the chemistry sample point used to classify the reach is also included. A sample point may classify several reaches if there are no major discharges or tributaries dividing those reaches. The sample point used to classify a reach may change and the classification is therefore calculated using the summary statistics for each sample point that has been used over the past three years. -

CEF - Covid-19 Community Group Support Funding September 2020 Offering financial assistance to local volunteer groups and networks who are responding to and recovering from the Covid-19 crisis. Please note the funding should only be used for such associated costs. Aim of the funding The aim of The CEF Covid-19 community support funding is to provide a ‘community float’. This will enable local voluntary groups to access financial assistance to support their activities that help communities to connect again. How do community networks access the funding? The funding is held by the Community Support Organisations (CSO) to administer on behalf of Selby District Council. The CSO will be responsible for coordinating and supporting a network of local voluntary community groups. Under this agreement the CSO will agree a simple payment system with each group across the CSOs network can access the fund. Each group that receives funding will need to produce proof of expenditure (i.e. receipts/invoices.) What expenditure is eligible? The funding can be used flexibly to enable groups to operate smoothly without financial barriers. How the funding has been used will be reviewed / discussed at each reporting stage but it is reasonable to conclude that this is likely to be: . Volunteer expenses (might be mileage, refreshments) in relation to covid-19 response/recovery activity . PPE (gloves, sanitisers etc) . Cleaning/sanitary equipment/items . Administrative/marketing supplies (printing, stamps, stationary etc) . Equipment to enable delivery of services (i.e. phone credit, games, social distance signage) What is not eligible? . Personal payments or financial assistance of any kind. -

The River Basin Districts Typology, Standards and Groundwater threshold values (Water Framework Directive) (England and Wales) Directions 2009 The Secretary of State and the Welsh Ministers, with the agreement of the Secretary of State to the extent that there is any effect in England or those parts of Wales that are within the catchment areas of the rivers Dee, Wye and Severn, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 40(2) of the Environment Act 1995(a) and now vested in them(b), and having consulted the Environment Agency, hereby give the following Directions to the Environment Agency for the implementation of Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy(c): Citation and commencement and extent 1.—(1) These Directions may be cited as the River Basin Districts Typology, Standards and Groundwater threshold values (Water Framework Directive) (England and Wales) Direction 2009 and shall come into force on 22nd December 2009. River Wharfe at Lobwood
YORKSHIRE WATER SERVICES LIMITED NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR DROUGHT PERMIT River Wharfe Catchment TAKE NOTICE that due to the threat of a serious water shortage in the Yorkshire area caused by an exceptional shortage of rain, YORKSHIRE WATER SERVICES LIMITED (company number 02366682) whose registered office is at Western House, Halifax Road, Bradford, BD6 2SZ is applying to the Environment Agency for a drought permit under section 79A of the Water Resources Act 1991 in the River Wharfe catchment. The drought permit is intended to apply until 31 March 2019 inclusive and proposes to increase the annual abstraction limit at Lobwood abstraction point on the River Wharfe and amend the Grimwith Reservoir releases during low flows. Lobwood abstraction (grid reference SE 07 51) and Grimwith Reservoir releases (grid reference SE 06 64) Yorkshire Water is authorised to abstract water from the River Wharfe at Lobwood, North Yorkshire for supply to customers under abstraction licence number 2/27/19/129/R01 (“the Lobwood Licence”). Yorkshire Water is entitled to abstract a maximum of 5,060 cubic metres per hour, 93,200 cubic metres per day and 23,742,000 cubic metres per year, at an instantaneous rate not exceeding 1,406 litres per second. The daily abstraction limit varies depending on flow conditions (‘bands’) in the River Wharfe and upstream releases from Grimwith Reservoir. Under the conditions of the Lobwood Licence, during periods of low flow in the River Wharfe, Yorkshire Water is required to support its abstraction at Lobwood by releasing water from Grimwith Reservoir. When river flows are above 389 megalitres per day (Ml/d) (Bands A and B in the licence), Yorkshire Water does not have to provide any support.
