2020-21 Chicago Wolves Game Notes GRAND RAPIDS AT CHICAGO FEB. 11, 2021 2 P.M. AHLTV.COM DON’T SLEEP ON PITLICK 2020-21 During the Chicago Wolves’ fast start, a lot of attention has been paid to the team’s teenagers — which TALE OF THE TAPE makes sense because there are several of them and they’ve been plenty good through the first three REGULAR-SEASON SERIES games. But it’s not like the rest of the roster belongs to AARP. 0-1-0-0 Grand Rapids | 1-0-0-0 Chicago LAST MEETING Take center Rem Pitlick, for example. He made his NHL debut with the Nashville Predators on March Feb. 5, 2021 25, 2019 — shortly before his 22nd birthday. The Ottawa native then scored 20 goals in 63 games last year for the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals during his first year as a pro. Nashville’s 2016 third-round pick has served as head coach Ryan Warsofsky’s first-line center for all three games and has been terrific at both ends of the ice. Pitlick shares the American Hockey League 0-1-0-0 3-0-0-0 lead with three goals and has earned the game-winning goal in each of the last two games — both of them breakaway goals that looked remarkably similar. His game-winner Tuesday against Rockford LEADING SCORERS came on shorthanded when he pounced on a loose puck at the Wolves’ blue line. GRAND RAPIDS CHICAGO Skater G A Pts Skater G A Pts “So ‘Pitter,’ he’s got some really good tools as I’m just learning myself,” said Warsofsky, who did not Criscuolo 1 0 1 Tomasino 2 3 5 see Pitlick play last year while serving as the Charlotte Checkers’ head coach.

  • Aigles Recruiting Class Grows
14 février 2018 – Acadie Nouvelle Aigles recruiting class grows SEAN HATCHARD TIMES & TRANSCRIPT Dieppe defenceman Alexandre Bernier is joining the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus next season. PHOTO: SAINT JOHN SEA DOGS Director of hockey operations Jean-François Damphousse believes better days are ahead for the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleus. They can only go up from here. Coming off a three-win season and failing to make the Atlantic University Sport men’s hockey conference playoffs, the Aigles Bleus’ recruiting class for next season grew on Tuesday. The club announced it’s adding four 20-year-old defencemen - Vincent Lanoue, Tobie Paquette-Bisson, former Moncton Wildcat Olivier Desjardins and Dieppe’s Alexandre Bernier - for next year. Lanoue, Paquette-Bisson and Desjardins have all played at least four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Bernier, currently with the Edmundston Blizzard in 14 février 2018 – Acadie Nouvelle the Maritime Junior Hockey League, won a QMJHL President Cup championship and played in the Memorial Cup with the Saint John Sea Dogs last season. Moncton has already landed QMJHL standout goaltender Étienne Montpetit of the Victoriaville Tigres and former Baie- Comeau Drakkar star forward Maxime St-Cy, who red-shirted this season after playing two years professionally. “The defencemen we’ve signed are leaders on their teams. Moving forward, we can be in the game when it comes to recruitment.

  • Press Clips October 2, 2013 Youthful Sabres Open in Detroit Wednesday Associated Press October 1, 2013
Buffalo Sabres Daily Press Clips October 2, 2013 Youthful Sabres open in Detroit Wednesday Associated Press October 1, 2013 Sabres coach Ron Rolston is reminded of the changes taking place in downtown Buffalo every day he heads into work. There’s a construction site across the street from the team’s arena, where Sabres owner Terry Pegula’s HarborCenter hotel and entertainment complex is being erected. Then there’s the major overhaul the Sabres themselves have been undergoing over the past eight months. They’re both works in progress, and also reflect the potential of a brighter future in Buffalo. “I would say it’s a good correlation and analogy,” Rolston said. “It’s both out front and in the arena.” Rolston is part of the Sabres’ transformation in replacing longtime coach Lindy Ruff, who was fired in February. The changes didn’t end there during what became a tumultuous, lockout- shortened season that ended with Buffalo missing the playoffs for the fourth time in six years. Before the season was over, the Sabres purged much of their old guard — including captain Jason Pominville — as part of a youth movement to shake up what had been an aging, high-priced and under-achieving core. And more changes could still be store, with goalie Ryan Miller and forward Thomas Vanek’s futures uncertain beyond this season. Both are entering the final years of their contracts, and the Sabres haven’t ruled out trading one or both. That’s left Rolston tempering his early expectations of an opening-day roster that could feature as many as seven rookies, including 18-year-old defenceman Rasmus Ristolainen.

  • Dobber's 2010-11 Fantasy Guide
DOBBER’S 2010-11 FANTASY GUIDE DOBBERHOCKEY.COM – HOME OF THE TOP 300 FANTASY PLAYERS I think we’re at the point in the fantasy hockey universe where DobberHockey.com is either known in a fantasy league, or the GM’s are sleeping. Besides my column in The Hockey News’ Ultimate Pool Guide, and my contributions to this year’s Score Forecaster (fifth year doing each), I put an ad in McKeen’s. That covers the big three hockey pool magazines and you should have at least one of them as part of your draft prep. The other thing you need, of course, is this Guide right here. It is not only updated throughout the summer, but I also make sure that the features/tidbits found in here are unique. I know what’s in the print mags and I have always tried to set this Guide apart from them. Once again, this is an automatic download – just pick it up in your downloads section. Look for one or two updates in August, then one or two updates between September 1st and 14th. After that, when training camp is in full swing, I will be updating every two or three days right into October. Make sure you download the latest prior to heading into your draft (and don’t ask me on one day if I’ll be updating the next day – I get so many of those that I am unable to answer them all, just download as late as you can). Any updates beyond this original release will be in bold blue.
