1 Jejak Warisan Pahang Pencetus Tamadun

Artifak Prasejarah Simbiosis Pada Estetika Tembikar Tradisi the Aesthetic Symbiosis of Pre-Historic Artifects on Tradisional Earthenware
Jurnal Seni dan Pendidikan Seni 1 ISSN 2289-4640 / Vol. 1 (2013) / (1-18) Artifak Prasejarah Simbiosis pada Estetika Tembikar Tradisi The Aesthetic Symbiosis of Pre-historic Artifects on Tradisional Earthenware Tajul Shuhaizam Said, Harozila Ramli, Mohd Fauzi Sedon Fakulti Seni, Komputeran & Industri Kreatif E-mel: [email protected] Abstrak Terdapat percanggahan pendapat berkaitan tembikar prasejarah dengan tembikar tradisi. Abstract There are differences of opnions regarding prehistorical and traditional pottery. Recent studies show that tradiional potteries shed much light upon the process of symbiosis between the prehistorical pieces and the traditional ones in Malaysia. Prehistorical potteries are functional but deliver a message in the formulation of motifs, symbols and surface decorations. Exploring the ways in which prehistoric potteries are made provide an idea of their aesthetics, perhaps even a philosophy underlying the thinking of the people living then, linking it to the traditional potteries of Malaysia. Keywords: prehistoric pottery, tradistional pottery, esthetic, symbiosis.

Selain itu, para penyelidik dari luar negara seperti Solheim, I.A. Mc Gregor, R.O. Winstedt, C.A. Gibson-Hill, G.A. -

The Gua Musang Group: a Newly Proposed Stratigraphic Unit for the Permo-Triassic Sequence of Northern Central Belt, Peninsular Malaysia
Bulletin of the Geological Society of Malaysia, Volume 62, December 2016, pp. 131 – 142 The Gua Musang Group: A newly proposed stratigraphic unit for the Permo-Triassic sequence of Northern Central Belt, Peninsular Malaysia KAMAL ROSLAN MOHAMED1,2,*, NELISA AMEERA MOHAMED JOEHARRY1, MOHD SHAFEEA LEMAN1,2 & CHE AZIZ ALI1,2 1Geology Programme, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, 43600 Bangi, Malaysia 2Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, 43600 Bangi, Malaysia *Corresponding author: [email protected] Abstract: The close association between the Gua Musang formation, Telong formation, Aring Formation, and Nilam marble reflect the lateral facies changes among these formations. Poorly delineated boundaries between each formation calls for a reassessment on the genetic and stratigraphic correlation of these formations. The newly proposed Gua Musang Group is defined as argillite-carbonate-volcanic deposited within the same Gua Musang platform during Permo-Triassic period, which includes all four formations under study. High resolution stratigraphy is needed for each formation for better stratigraphic correlation between the various lithostratigraphic units of the Gua Musang Group and other chronologically related rock formations in the region. The new division of formations within this Group is proposed based on lithologies and stratigraphic correlation that could provide better understanding on the geology of northern section of Central Belt of Peninsular Malaysia. -
Archaeology, Culture and History: Concept and Their Contribution in Malaysia
7th International Seminar on ECOLOGY, HUMAN HABITAT AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE IN THE MALAY WORLD Pekanbaru, Riau, INDONESIA, 19-20 August 2014 Archaeology, Culture and History: Concept and Their Contribution in Malaysia Zuliskandar Ramli1 1) Institute of the Malay World and Civilization (ATMA), The National University of Malaysia, 43600 UKM Bangi, Selangor, Malaysia INTRODUCTION Archeology, history and culture are seen as capable of contributing to national development. The three things are linked because the three have a strong bond. In the opinion of the author, archaeology, history and culture are in harmony of each other. This is because archeology is part of history and cultural data, including the paleo-environment data (ecofact), which are the primary data in archaeological research. However, this view would conflict with those who adhere to the idea that 'archeology is anthropology or it is nothing. It is the faith of those who subscribe to the "New Archaeology" born in America. The movement began in the late 1950’s when American researchers began to move the entire discipline away from the study of artifacts to the study of people behavior. Work of Gordon Willey and Philip Philips in ‘Method and Theory in American Archaeology’ stated that “American archaeology is anthropology or it is nothing (Whillwy and Phillips 1958: 2). The idea implied that the goals of archaeology were, in fact, the goals of anthropology, which were to answer questions about humans and human society. This was a critique of the former period in archaeology, the culture-historical phase in which archaeologists thought that any information which artifacts contained is about past people and their way of live once the items are included in the archaeological record. -
