SALHI- 1 - D.SA. de Biskra 2 - S.R.P.V. Filiache - Biskra. Abstract : Date palni tree is facing many problems and constraints snch as water stress, excess of salinity, deseases, pests, etc... Among the most important pests Parlatoria blanchardii communly known as the white cochineal is spread in Biskra région. Aims ofthis study were to measure its spread, to identify its natural predators and to measure there impact on this pest. Iperti's scale vim iised to measure overrun ofParlatoria blanchardii on date palms. Most predators ofthis pest living in the study area were identified and there impact measured. Results show that spread of Parlatoria blanchardii is not uniform ail over the study area. More over a close rela- tionship wasfound between it's spread and those ofpredators siich as, Cybocephaliis palmanum and Pharoscvmus semislobu.sus. Résumé : Le palmier dattier est confronté à de nombreux problèmes et contraintes tels que le déficit hydrique, les excès de salinité, les maladies, les insectes nuisibles, etc... Parmi ces derniers, Parlatoria blanchardii Targ communément appelée la Cochenille blanche est répandue au niveau de la région de Biskra. Les objectifs de cette étude visent une évaluation de Vinfestation des palmeraies de la wilaya de Biskra par la Cochenille blanche, l'identification de ses prédateurs naturels et leur impact. L'échelle d'Iperti a été utilisée pour mesurer les taux d'infestation par Parlatoria hlnnchardii. -

I have started gleaning testimonies in 1969, leaving aside those dealing with propaganda or exonerating partiality. I have confronted facts and witnesses, through an unyielding search for truth, bearing in mind that each witness, consciously or not, is victim of his own implication. -

Abstract: Saffron contained more than 150 volatile and several nonvolatile compounds, approximately 40–50 constituents have already been identified. It contained apocarotinoid glycosides: in particular crocin (crocetin- betadigentiobioside), colored intensive yellow orange; picrocrocin (glycosidic bitter principle, up to 4%): the apocarotinoids and picrocrocin were presumably breakdown products of a carotinoid-digentiobioside- diglucoside (protocrocin); volatile oil (0.4 to 1.3%): [(4,5-dehydro-betacyclocitral (safranal), 4-hydroxy-beta- cyclocitral (breakdown products of the picrocrocin)]; carotinoids: lycopene, alpha-, beta-, gamma-carotene; fatty oil and starch. The previous pharmacological studies revealed that saffron possessed antidepressant, anticonvulsant, antianxiety, memory improvement, for the treatment of tremor and morphine-withdrawal syndrome, antidiabetic, antioxidant, dermatological, immunological, cardiovascular, respiratory, reproductive, gastrointestinal, smooth muscle relaxation, anticancer, antiparasitic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, protective ( hepatic, renal, CNS) and many other pharmacological effects. These regions are located at elevation ranging around 250-831m asl, experiencing arid and semi-arid Mediterranean climate. Respondents of 86 families demonstrated that livestock is an integral part of the region’s mixed farming systems. Low livestock numbers per most households at present reflect the self- consumption breeding mode adapted in these regions. Currently, farmers focus on four main livestock types; goat, sheep, chicken and bee keeping in two regions, it is the case of Beni Souik and Branis , while Maafa includes beyond these types, turkey and pigeon whereas Ain Zaatout includes duck and swine beside the previous livestock types. In the same context; goat ranked first in the four regions, goat and sheep secondly then goat and poultry with goat combined to sheep and poultry in third place. Thus; most families use a combination of grazing, agriculture sub-products and industrial products for the nutrition of their livestock. Families keep livestock as source of milk, butter, wool or hair, leather and other products that are strongly used as nutritional, weaving supply or stocking covering resources for the family members or friends and in some cases for sell to seekers of animal products of indigenous territory origins. -
