Typical Jeeves and WoosterBy BillardHaving watched and loved entire series on TV I was keen to read one of the stories. It lived up entirely to my expectations. The wit, the sarcasm, the way Jeeves handles his master, its all there. A good, light-hearted read, I look forward to reading more.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. jeaves and wooster yuletide spiritBy Margaret Ormstonjeaves and wooster..yuletide spirit ...great stuff..as always..very light hearted and amusing.....thoroughly enjoyed it..and it's free!!..need more words apparently for this review..haven't got anything more to say0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Wodehouse - it's goodBy KatecupaA short sweet classic Bertie Wooster adventure with Jeeves operating in the background. Wodehouse language, syntax and grammar is a treat! A baker's dozen of P.G. Wodehouse's finest short stories.Aunts, engagements, misunderstandings and hangover cures; this delightful collection from 'the greatest chronicler of a certain kind of Englishness' (Julian Fellowes) brings together a baker's dozen of P.G. Wodehouse's finest short stories. This beautiful edition includes tales related by Mr Mulliner, the charming raconteur of the Angler's Rest; the Oldest Member at the Golf Club; the irrespressible and disreputable Ukridge and, of course, the escapades of Bertie Wooster and Jeeves. "a great introduction to Wodehouse or a treat for established fans" * Sunday Mirror * "bound to be a festive seller but there's lots to keep you chuckling throughout the year" * The Times *About the AuthorThe author of almost a hundred books and the creator of Jeeves, Blandings Castle, Psmith, Ukridge, Uncle Fred and Mr Mulliner, P.G. WODEHOUSE was born in 1881 and educated at Dulwich College. After two years with the Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank he became a full-time writer, contributing to a variety of periodicals including Punch and the Globe. He married in 1914. As well as his novels and short stories, he wrote lyrics for musical comedies with Guy Bolton and Jerome Kern, and at one stage had five musicals running simultaneously on Broadway. His time in Hollywood also provided much source material for fiction. At the age of 93, in the New Year's Honours List of 1975, he received a long-overdue knighthood, only to die on St Valentine's Day some 45 days later.
