Both are state- supported institutions in Texas. Prairie View carries the edge in this contest, having won three consecutive victories — includng a most important 22-14 win over Grambling College last week. Texas Southern is 1-1 on the season and hopes to improve it's record in tonight's performance. Past records, statistics, and various predictions are usually laid aside when these two teams meet. Tonight's game may be another such event, but we must wait and see. Thrill to the Play!   • Glosson Football
    George Edmond Football George Edmond was born in Texarkana, Texas but moved with his family to Conroe in 1947. He graduated from Washington HS in 1963. Edmond was a four-year letterman in football coached by Charles Brown as the team won district championships in each of Edmonds' four seasons and the school's first state title in 1960. He was named All-District three times and was team captain as a junior and senior playing right guard on offense, middle linebacker on defense, and was the punter. He was known as the "60-minute Man," because he never left the field. Edmond enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent three years in Germany. He worked in Houston at Cameron Iron Works and A.M. Castle Metals and in 2010 retired from both companies. George and Regina have been married for 36 years and the are the parents of three boys, Keith Wiley, Gregory Edmond, and George, Jr. They have seven grandchildren. William "Rock" Glosson Football William Glosson grew up in San Antonio and played football at Wheatley HS. He attended Texas Southern University and was a wide receiver for legendary coach Alexander Durley. Glosson was a three-time All-Southwestern Athletic Conference performer (1956- 58) and a Black College All-American in 1957 and 1958. His best game came in 1958 against Prairie View when he caught 22 passes for 270 yards. He was the Tigers MVP in 1957 and 1958 and graduated in 1959 with a degree in guidance and counseling. He received his master's degree in counseling in 1964.
