PHOTO OF THE WEEK

This photo was taken in the begin- ning of this spring semester in south Jacksonville Beach towards Ponte Vedra. Originally this series was taken with my 35mm camera with black and white film for my In- termediate class. I was happier with this digital snap shot I got while shooting because the lighting really emphasizes the time of day we went to shoot. This series of photos was meant to show the comparison of masculine figures and a femine subject. These abandoned poles represent strong foundations while contrasting with an classic and graceful model. The vacant beach and fog rolling in sets the mood for this balancing of two separate moods and portrayals. April 4 Unresponsive Student (Osprey Fountains): An officer arrived at the Osprey Fountains and found an unresponsive, but conscious, female student lying on the ground surrounded by a group of people. Her roommate and a friend visiting from Germany told the officer they had been at Whiskey River in the St. Johns Town Center earlier that night. The unresponsive student was under 21 and had a black “X” on her hand to signify that she was not allowed to drink Police alcohol. Her friends said they were not with her the entire time, so she could have consumed something without their knowledge. One friend said they found her in a locked stall in Whiskey River’s bathroom and had to crawl under the stall to secure her. After returning to the Osprey Beat Fountains, the girls requested rescue and the student was transferred to St. Vincent’s Hospital. Check out more Police Beats online at unfspinnaker.com
