BOSTON UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME ANDREA ASHUCK ‘95 * inducted in 1998 Andrea Ashuck was a leader during two of the most successful seasons ever enjoyed by Terrier women’s basketball teams between 1987 and 1989. During the 1987-88 season, the women set a program record for wins en route to a 21-8 record and the Seaboard Conference title. The following year, playing Miami, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Old Dominion, and Syracuse, the team finished 14-14, but won its second straight Seaboard Tournament. A native of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., Ashuck was a two-time All-Conference selection and an All-Amer- ican Honorable Mention pick in 1987. Ashuck ranks third in BU history in career field goals made (590), fifth in points (1,348), blocks (92), and games played (112), and seventh in rebounds (681).

DEBBIE MILLER ‘81 * inducted in 1985 A 5-11 forward from the Bronx, Debbie Miller started all four years for the Terriers from 1977-1981 while leading the team in scoring, rebounding, and every other offensive category each year and owned the team MVP trophy after each season. Miller scored a program-record 1,864 points during her BU career and had a program-best 1,198 rebounds. She averaged 20.0 points and 12.9 rebounds per game for her career and also had 477 assists, 428 steals and 260 blocked shots. Miller received All-America honors her junior and senior years and was twice a finalist for the Margaret Wade Trophy, given to the nation’s top player. The first woman to be inducted into the Hall of Fame from the modern era, Miller was awarded the Scarlet Key and received the Gretchen Schuyler Award as the University’s top female athlete in 1981.

JILL SOSNAK ‘95 * inducted in 2000 Jill Sosnak combined the rare talents of being able to handle the ball like a guard, score from the perimeter like a forward and post up like a center. Sosnak made her presence felt from the outset, as she finished second on the team in scoring (12.7 ppg) and first in rebounding (8.0 rpg) her freshman year of 1990-91. Her performances earned her Confer- ence Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Conference recognition. She went on to earn First Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore, as she led the Terriers in scoring (16.0 ppg), rebounding (8.4 rpg) and field goal percentage (.492). Sosnak improved her rebounding average to 8.9 her junior year, while her scoring remained the same at 16.0, and she earned a spot as a Second Team All-Conference pick and a Fourth Team All-American as selected by the American Women’s Sports Federation. After redshirting the 1993-94 season, she came back in 1994-95 to lead the team in rebounding (7.9) for the fourth straight year. Jill also captained the team, as her leadership was vital in the team’s 18-10 campaign. Sosnak ranks fourth on BU’s career scoring list with 1,430 points. She also ranks first in career free throws made (394), second in rebounds (828), and fifth in field goals (508).

KATIE TERHUNE ‘04 * inducted in 2014 The all-time leading scorer in BU women’s basketball history, Katie Terhune (‘04) is one of two players in program history to have her jersey number (15) retired. The Port Murray, N.J., native ranks first all-time with 1,971 career points while also owning the top spot for career free throws (489) and career free throw percentage (83.0 percent). Throughout her four-year career, Terhune averaged 17.1 points per game and scored over 500 points in three of her four seasons, while her 655 field goals and 173 3-pointers rank third and fourth all-time, respectively. The three-time America East All-Conference First Team honoree led BU to three winning seasons, two trips to the America East title game and the Terriers’ only conference tournament championship in 2003. As the only America East Tournament MVP in program history, Terhune led BU to its only NCAA tournament appearance, where the Terriers faced eventual national champion Connecticut in the first round. Terhune later received BU’s Mildred Barnes Award at the conclusion of her junior season, given annually to the Terriers’ top female student-athlete. 2019-20 BOSTON UNIVERSITY WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
