CZECH (Under the Direction of John Weaver) ABSTRACT This project opens space for looking at the world in a musical way where “jamming” with music through playing and listening to it helps one resist a more standardized and dualistic way of seeing the world. Instead of having a traditional dissertation, this project is organized like a record album where each chapter is a Track that contains an original song that parallels and plays off the subject matter being discussed to make a more encompassing, multidimensional, holistic, improvisational, and critical statement as the songs and riffs move along together to tell why an arts-based musical way of being can be a choice and alternative in our lives.

  • Stamp Supplies!
2019 EDITION STAMP Stamp Supplies! America’s Leading Discount Stamp and Coin Supply Company Open all night....www.subwaystamp.com About Our Company A little history, Who we are, What we do Virginia Goldberg operates Subway Stamp Shop as a family business. Her motto “Stamp Collecting.... fun for the whole family” reflects the way Virginia make her business decisions. Subway has everything a stamp collector might need from stamp hinges to the highest quality deluxe hingeless albums. Subway guarantees customer satisfaction and will exchange or refund any product you are not satisfied with. Hugh’s father, Simon E Goldberg was a lifelong stamp collector. In the evenings he made stamp packets from duplicates and lots, and sold them from displays he placed in luncheonettes, cigar and candy stores. In the late 1940’s Simon, using his own collection, opened a stamp collecting department in the corner of a cousin’s camera shop in Brooklyn (NY). The business quickly grew and in 1952 Simon made the move to world famous “Nassau Street” (New York City) when he purchased Subway Stamp Shop (est. 1931). The store was located in the subway arcade at 87 Nassau Street (hence the name Subway) until Subway relocated to larger quarters on the 2nd floor at 111 Nassau Street. Nassau street was the home of hundreds of stamp collecting companies from the 1930’s thru the 1970’s. Stamp collectors and dealers both headed straight for Nassau street when visiting New York. For many years Subway Stamp Shop’s advertisements started with the line “Nassau Street - where stamp collecting began.

  • Burt Bacharach – Primary Wave Music
BURT BACHARACH facebook.com/Burt-Bacharach-Legend-583913155035715 instagram.com/burtbacharach twitter.com/BurtBacharach Imageyoutube.com/channel/UC9ytb5oEKF9dpFtB6CiDOFw not found or type unknown burtbacharachofficial.com en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burt_Bacharach open.spotify.com/artist/35y7CZMg7jbG8Q96JY7dyC One of the most important composers of popular music in the second half of the 20th century, Burt Bacharach’s sophisticated yet breezy creations borrow from cool jazz, soul, Brazilian bossa nova, and traditional pop. After having his first Top 20 hit in 1957 with “The Story of My Life,” performed by Marty Robbins, his lush, poignant songs virtually defined and ultimately transcended the Brill Building pop of the 1960s. Bacharach went on to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart over 80 times, the vast majority of which were the product of his long-running partnership with lyricist Hal David. Together, they reached the Top Five with tracks like “Magic Moments” (Perry Como, 1958), “Only Love Can Break a Heart” (Gene Pitney, 1962), “I Say a Little Prayer” (Dionne Warwick, 1967), and “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head” (B.J. Thomas) from the soundtrack to 1969’s Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Bacharach’s work on that film resulted in two Academy Awards: best song and best score. In the ’80s, he teamed up with Carole Bayer Sager for a run of successful songs that included the number ones “Arthur’s Theme” (Christopher Cross, 1981, also with Peter Allen), and “On My Own” (Patti Labelle and Michael McDonald, 1986). “Arthur’s Theme” won Bacharach a third Oscar. In 1998, the album Painted from Memory, a collaboration with Elvis Costello, launched another recurring partnership.

(International sales: Moviehouse Intl., London.) Produced by Mia Bays, Stephen Kijak, Elizabeth Rose. Executive producers, David Bowie, Mark Vennis, Gary Phillips, Colin Burch, Julia Short. Directed, written by Stephen Kijak. By EDDIE COCKRELL A reclusive musician steps out from the shadows in absorbing docu "Scott Walker: 30th Century Man." Longtime fans of Walker's warm, sepulchral baritone, startlingly evocative songwriting and lushly imaginative instrumentation will rejoice at this revealing docu, while pic will garner converts via fest play, limited arthouse exposure and rich ancillary. Though he hasn't performed publicly in three decades, Walker writes and performs original albums roughly every 10 years. Sparse output, combined with roller-coaster industry history and That Voice, has resulted in a cadre of disparate yet influential fans that include onscreen acolytes David Bowie (pic's lead exec producer), Radiohead, Brian Eno, Ute Lemper, Jarvis Cocker, Lulu, Marc Almond, Damon Albarn, Allison Goldfrapp, Gavin Friday and even Sting. Born Noel Scott Engel in 1943, the singer had brief fame as a teen idol before joining up in 1964 with John Maus and Gary Leeds to form the Walker Brothers.
