Edgar Berger (President & CEO – Sony Music International) “We couldn’t be happier to welcome Paul Kalkbrenner to the Sony Music family. Paul has been instrumental and most influential in the development of the electronica genre. He has built an impressive global fan base and we look forward to embarking on the next chapter with the release of his forthcoming seventh studio album.” Patrick Moxey (President of Electronic Music – Sony Music) "I am so excited Paul has joined Sony as he's truly one of the legendary electronic artists. His music is uncompromising with artistic integrity." Wolfgang Boss (EVP A&R – Sony Music International) “The greatest thing about being an A&R is when you actually sign and work with an artist that you’ve admired and respected for years. This is what happens now with Paul Kalkbrenner signing to us at Sony International and I am very excited to work with Paul on the worldwide release of his new album this year!” Paul Kalkbrenner “Happy to be onboard”. • Sacred Sound
Sacred Sound Does Berlin’s Techno and rave culture, as epitomised by the Berghain nightclub, offer a sustainable sonic representation of the city? Michelle O’Brien “Berghain is the epitome of Berlin nightlife and, in my mind, a sort of rite of passage for anyone who looks forward to ever staying there to live. If you are let into the Berghain and once inside you feel like everything going on feels somehow right and reasonable, then you are ready to be a part of this city. You are open, you are free, you are Berlin.” - Gallardo, 2010 Techno music beats deep in the heart of Berlin's urban landscape. With such a political and subversive nature, the music and the rave culture that surrounds it are sonic reminders of the capital's tumultuous past, in particular the struggles of stitching together a deeply divided and ravaged city after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The nightclub Berghain is an institution in this scene, embodying a manifesto of social and political freedom, and infamous for its weekend- long parties, sexual liberalism and hedonism. Stories circulate around the world about what goes on inside the walls of this ex-power station and this in turn keeps the myth and legend of the club alive. Berghain stands at the global forefront of electronic dance music (EDM) with a burning integrity to push sonic boundaries for its audience. The club creates a truly unique listening environment where, through a custom-made sound system and carefully crafted interior, audiences are immersed in their temporal sonic environment to the point of becoming cogs in the machine of its actualisation (Holmes, 2002).

MADRID University of Illinois at Chicago (US) When certain products or practices attain a more secure place in a particular cultural landscape they tend to become naturalized in the minds of those who experience such landscapes; it is almost as if they had always been there, they become “authenticated”. This seems to be the case with reggaeton. As I sit down to write this review I ask myself when I heard about reggaeton for the first time and I cannot find an answer. When pushing myself to remember anything related to what I now believe belongs to the reggaeton performance complex, a number of fragmented images and sounds come to mind. I remember El General in local, low budget shows from the Telemundo or Univisión TV networks in New York City and Boston in the early 1990s; then students asking me about the genre (and actually calling it reggaeton) almost ten years later in Chicago; finally, its explosion into the mainstream media in 2005, and its pervasive presence in clubs in Havana, Cuba, that summer. Although most of these memories are rather vague and patchy, what I do remember clearly is not being able to explain thoroughly what reggaeton was.

2 GLOBAL PLAYER Dramatic comedy by Hannes Stoehr (Feature film, 95 minutes, color, Germany 2013) The family-run company "Bogenschuetz & Sons" has produced solid textile machines in Hechingen, a small Swabian city in southern Germany, for generations. But nowadays demand is down since Asian competitors are cheaper. Michael Bogenschuetz (39, junior boss) is forced to negotiate on a sale with the Chinese behind his father’s back. But father Paul (90, senior partner) finds out and tries to get help from Michael’s sisters Marlies (45) and Marianne (49) to rescue his life’s work ... GLOBAL PLAYER tragicomically portraits a family, middle-class and entrepreneurial, in times of globalization. After his sensational debut "Berlin is in Germany" (Panorama Audience Award, Berlinale 2001), after "One day in Europe" (in Berlinale Competition 2005) and his cult film "Berlin Calling" (2008, e.g. ARTE Audience Award), Hannes Stoehr has yet succeeded in another outstanding film: Fehler!
