Results Intheresearch,itwaspossibletoseetheelasticfibers inthetunicasubmucosaofthestomach.Theelasticfibers inpreparationsstainedbyVerhoeffVanGiesonelastic stainweredifferentiatedbytheblack-purplishthread-like appearance.Themucosalayerwasbrown,andthe muscularlayerredandlightbrownstained.Thefindings ofthisstudyaresummarizedintable. Thelengthoftheelasticfibersinthepyloruswas foundtobestatisticallygreaterthanthoseinotherareas (P:0.0001). Theelasticfibersdensityperunitareainthepylorus wasfoundtobestatisticallygreaterthanthatinother areas(P:0.0001).
