Syderstone | Norfolk MANNERED PERFECTION Syderstone | Norfolk MANNERED PERFECTION This beautifully restored 1800s period home has absolutely everything in the way of luxury you could ever ask for, with eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two spacious living rooms and a large kitchen/dining area complete with an Aga. Outside, there’s a gated drive with parking for five cars adjacent to the front lawn, and to the rear of the house the privacy of an enclosed garden with Yorkstone terracing. Situated in the historic village of Syderstone, all the amenities the town of Fakenham has to offer are seven miles away, and the glorious north Norfolk Coast only a ten-mile drive. A truly unique property in superlative condition. • Exquisitely presented Grade II Family Home superbly loved and developed by the current sellers • Used as a prestigious Holiday Home producing an Incredible Yield • Conveniently located to the Desirable North Norfolk Coast. 7.2 Miles to Burnham Market, 11.1 Miles to Wells–Next–The–Sea • Entrance Hall, Sitting Room, Snug, Library, Open Plan Kitchen, Dining, Family Room • Eight Bedrooms, Family Bathroom, Shower Room and Five En-Suites • Gardens, Terrace Garden and Games Room • Total Accommodation extends to 4827 sq.ft No Expense Spared The moment you approach this substantial grade II listed property along the new driveway with electric gates, you know it’s something very special. With its origins in the late 17th century, no corner has been cut in restoring The Manor House to the highest possible standards whilst retaining a wealth of period features. Acquired by the present owner in 2014, it subsequently underwent two years of refurbishment and redevelopment costing in the region of £500,000, which included the creation of eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms, a new bespoke kitchen, and replacement of all windows. That’s not to mention that the property was re-roofed at the same time, completely rewired, and had a brand- new LPG heating system consisting of two boilers installed in it, with new radiators throughout. Luxury Abounds To the front of the property there’s a lawn with yew hedging and a number of recently planted Holme oak trees, and to the rear the perfect sun trap in the form of an enclosed terrace, populated with beautiful mulberry trees, yew cones, box balls, figs, and pleached limes. And the wow factor certainly doesn’t let up once inside the property. One is spoilt for choice by the two spacious living rooms, both with open fires, or the cozy snug with its underfloor heating. Then there’s the grand kitchen/dining room with its large statement island unit, a favourite room with guests as the owner is keen to point out. And there’s even a separate games room/annexe to the rear of the property. With eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms upstairs, this could be the classic family home you’ve always dreamt of. Business and Pleasure While The Manor House is ideally suited as a family home or second home, since April 2017 it has also been run as a very successful holiday let. In the calendar year ended 2018, it generated annual income of £109,000 from forty-nine bookings, and there’s a strong booking profile for 2019. Country Life The peaceful and unspoilt village of Syderstone dates back well over a thousand years and is known for its large common spanning approximately four square miles, and also its abundance of wildlife. While this setting represents the best of country living, you’re within easy reach of everything the town of Fakenham has to offer some seven miles away, and also the glorious north Norfolk coast only ten miles away. ““The property has a real peace to it - and Syderstone is such a quiet village and yet so close to the beaches at Brancaster, Burnham Overy, Holkham and Wells.” On The Doorstep Syderstone sits on the outskirts of Fakenham, a popular market town due to its situation between Norwich and the North Norfolk Coast. Having both the countryside and the coast so conveniently placed with a good shopping centre just a couple of miles away, makes this a particularly convenient location. Norwich has an International Airport with flights to many destinations, and train services direct to London. How Far Is It To?... Syderstone lies approximately 7 miles to the north of the market and racecourse town of Fakenham in Norfolk. Travelling west, King’s Lynn with its major shopping centre and main line connections to London (1 hour 40 minutes) is about 20 miles along the A148. The Cathedral City of Norwich is 33 miles away, offering a range of cultural and leisure facilities. The beautiful North Norfolk Coast, an area of outstanding natural beauty, is a short drive away. Directions Leave Fakenham west on the A148 toward King’s Lynn taking the right hand turn signposted Docking/Hunstanton. Continue on the road until reaching the first signpost for Syderstone. Follow this road directly into the village taking the last left hand turn on The Street where the property is found on the left hand side. • Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office
Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office This list summarises the Norfolk Record Office’s (NRO’s) holdings of parish (Church of England) registers and of transcripts and other copies of them. Parish Registers The NRO holds registers of baptisms, marriages, burials and banns of marriage for most parishes in the Diocese of Norwich (including Suffolk parishes in and near Lowestoft in the deanery of Lothingland) and part of the Diocese of Ely in south-west Norfolk (parishes in the deanery of Fincham and Feltwell). Some Norfolk parish records remain in the churches, especially more recent registers, which may be still in use. In the extreme west of the county, records for parishes in the deanery of Wisbech Lynn Marshland are deposited in the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, whilst Welney parish records are at the Cambridgeshire Record Office. The covering dates of registers in the following list do not conceal any gaps of more than ten years; for the populous urban parishes (such as Great Yarmouth) smaller gaps are indicated. Whenever microfiche or microfilm copies are available they must be used in place of the original registers, some of which are unfit for production. A few parish registers have been digitally photographed and the images are available on computers in the NRO's searchroom. The digital images were produced as a result of partnership projects with other groups and organizations, so we are not able to supply copies of whole registers (either as hard copies or on CD or in any other digital format), although in most cases we have permission to provide printout copies of individual entries.
