List of resolution parishes to date Dear Brothers and sisters, This is a longer than usual newsletter, largely because it contains the findings of the survey we conducted earlier this year into the ways churches put ‘male headship’ into practice. I hope you will find this of interest without becoming too absorbed in the fact that one group of churches do things one way and others do it another. The Reform Covenant, which has united us for over 30 years, urges us to keep the principle of male headship in mind but is silent on matters of detail. All of this is an encouragement to us to ‘keep the main thing the main thing’. I was recently reminded of the need for this when preparing an address for the Oxford Diocesan Evangelical Union on the subject of ‘contending for the gospel’. While many passages in the New Testament urge us to watch out for false teaching, the pastoral epistles in particular encourage us not to be distracted from the primary job of preaching and teaching (e.g. 2 Tim 4:1-5). There is also a lovely reminder in Philippians 4:4, that despite the chapter 3 injunction to ‘watch out’, this should never mean we lose our joy in the gospel. This time of year is especially appropriate for remembering Paul’s entreaty “rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” 1.

PADI Bromley, Havering, 11 schools across 7 350 Raising Green Awareness with Tree Planting and Tree Adoption in London Primary Schools Kingston upon boroughs Thames, Merton, PADI has been awarded £12,000 to plant 350 trees in 11 different schools across seven London boroughs: Bromley, Newham, Havering, Kingston upon Thames, Merton, Newham, Southwark and Sutton. Southwark, Sutton The project will create and improve green spaces and develop tree adoption schemes to involve children in the ongoing maintenance of the trees. Trees will be planted at Southborough Primary School and Harris Girls’ Academy (Bromley), St. Alban’s Catholic Primary School, Harold Court Primary School, Harold Wood School and Drapers’ Brookside Junior School (Havering), Alexandra School (Kingston upon Thames), Aragon Primary School (Merton), Gallions Primary School (Newham), Albion Primary School (Southwark) and Brookfield Primary School (Sutton).
