Covey made a relief appearance on April 24 against Kane County, in which he gave up three runs on one hit, struck out one, and walked four, but received a no decision. Covey’s last THIS DAY IN CHIEFS HISTORY start came on April 18 against Lansing. He gave up five runs on nine hits, walked none, and struck out five as he suffered his second loss of the season. 2000 - The Chiefs and Lansing Lugnuts brawl at Pete Covey made 10 starts with the Vermont Lake Monsters and four starts with Beloit in 2013. Total, Covey went 1-1 with a 3.79 ERA, struck out 46, and Vonachen Stadium in front of 1,523 fans on a Sunday th afternoon. The brawl totals 10 ejections (4 Chiefs, 5 walked 18 in 59 1/3 innings. Covey was originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers 14 in the 2010 draft out of Maranatha HS (Pasadena, CA), but Lugnuts and Lansing's Manager). In the seventh inning chose not to sign. Instead, Covey attended the University of San Diego until he was eventually drafted in the 4 th round of the 2013 draft by the Oakland Chiefs DH Shawn Schumacher broke his left tibia in a Athletics. Covey went 6-3 with a 3.32 ERA in 2012 with the Toreros. Covey was named the 2010 Gatorade State Player of the Year in California and home plate collision with Casey Kopitzke. In the top of the 8th Kopitzke was hit by a pitch and the Lugnuts was a first-team All-America selection, both as a senior in high school. Has not faced any current Chiefs or Cardinals affiliates. retaliated in the bottom of the inning by throwing at and then hitting Danilo Araujo.
