Bartolozzi, MD, of the Aria 3B Orthopaedic Institute, Inducted into West Chester University’s Sturzebecker Hall of Fame Philadelphia – (November 19, 2015) – At an awards ceremony on Saturday, November 7, West Chester University inducted Arthur R. Bartolozzi, MD, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director of Sports Medicine at the Aria 3B Orthopaedic Institute, into the Sturzebecker Hall of Fame at the College of Health Sciences. Dr. Bartolozzi, a dedicated physician and educator who serves as the team physician and Orthopaedic surgeon for the university’s athletic department, was chosen for his decades-long commitment to the care of athletes and the advancement of Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics and for his commitment to education. Specializing in arthroscopic surgery, partial and total knee replacement and sports medicine at the Aria 3B Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Bartolozzi is nationally recognized and renowned for his work with professional sports teams and premier athletes, including the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers and Phantoms, the Philadelphia Kixx indoor soccer team, the Camden Riversharks, and as a consulting physician for the U.S. National Soccer Team. Over the course of his career, he has helped thousands of athletes at all levels recover from injuries and successfully return to pursue their sport. “Sports have had a significant impact on my life and I have derived tremendous satisfaction in helping athletes return to play,” said Bartolozzi. “I am humbled to be honored in this way and to be a part of an outstanding academic training program. I have had a passion for teaching at all levels and our combined efforts at West Chester University have resulted in educating hundreds of orthopaedic and primary care physicians and athletic training students. My most memorable moments have been in the training room and on the athletic fields helping athletes while teaching the athletic training students. I look forward to continuing my work with these fine athletes and students.” Performing hundreds of surgeries each year, Dr. Bartolozzi’s leadership in sports medicine and joint replacement has been widely recognized as he continues to spearhead community programs that educate, inform and advocate health and safety. For the first time this year, Dr. Bartolozzi and the Aria 3B Orthopaedic Institute have launched the High School Sportsmanship Award, a scholarship program aimed at promoting sportsmanship among high school athletes in Northeast Philadelphia, Lower Bucks County, Center City and South Jersey. Among his many accolades, Dr. Bartolozzi has received the Torg Award presented by the Philadelphia Sports Medicine Congress for his dedication to academics and teaching, the Dick Vermeil Award for Outstanding Contributions to the field of Sports Medicine presented by the Otho Davis Scholarship Foundation, as well as the Eastern Athletic Trainer’s Association Moyer Award for his significant contributions to the field of Sports Medicine.
