LAUREN JOHNSON ERIN GRIMSLEY STAFF ASSISTANT COACH ATHLETIC TRAINER FIRST SEASON AT CHARLESTON SOUTHERN FIRST SEASON AT CHARLESTON SOUTHERN Lauren Johnson joined the Buccaneers coaching staff in the summer of 2019. Erin Grimsley joined the Buccaneer athletic training staff in the fall of 2019 and will serve as the primary athletic trainer for the CSU women’s basketball team.

Johnson joins the Bucs by way of Augusta University where she served as the PLAYERS assistant coach over the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. Grimsley joins the Buccaneers staff by way of Moravian College where she earned her Master of Science degree in Athletic Training in 2019. During her time at For her part, Johnson is excited to join the Bucs’ coaching staff as CSU looks to build Moravian, she also worked with St. Luke’s in Bethleham, Pa., in their Sports Medicine off a strong season this past year after advancing to the Big South Championships Clinic, Outpatient Physical Therapy, Neurological Rehabilitation, and Primary Care semifinal round in 2018-19. Sports Medicine departments. She also worked at Queens University of Charlotte in the fall of 2017 and 2018.

In the 2018-19 season on the Augusta bench, the Jaguars nearly doubled their win HISTORY total from the previous season. Johnson spent four seasons as an assistant coach Grimsley graduated from Western Carolina University in the spring of 2017 with a for Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C., from 2013-17. She picked up the degree in Health Sciences. During her undergraduate work, she spent time with clipboard at SWU after finishing her playing career with the Warriors following the multiple high schools in the area helping out with physicals, as well as working with 2012-13 season. both North Buncombe and Cherokee High School in 2015 and 2016.

Johnson was named to the SSAC All-Conference team, while also earning All- American and All-Region honors during her time. Her 510 points during her senior RECORDS campaign are the highest single season total since the 2003 season. Johnson was also the head junior varsity coach for the Warriors for two seasons during her coaching stint.
