The game will tip at approximately 3:10 pm, or 30 minutes following the conclusion of the 12:40 pm tip between Ole Miss and Oklahoma. The legendary broadcast team of Jim Nantz, Bill Raftery, Grant Hill and Tracy Wolfson GARDNER-WEBB QUICK LOOK u Tim Craft is the third coach in Gardner-Webb history to reach 100 career wins by his sixth season. The Tallahassee, Fla., native joined Hall of Famers Eddie Holbrook (141) and Jim Wiles (103) on that list when GWU rallied for an 87-74 overtime win against Hampton on January 19 in Paul Porter Arena. u Under Craft, the Runnin’ Bulldogs have not endured a losing season in Big South Conference play in his six seasons. GARDNER-WEBB OVERALL BIG SOUTH u The Runnin’ Bulldogs are 4-2 in overtime games this season. GWU is 11-3 this season in “close games” – games decided by two possessions or less or in overtime. That included an 8-1 mark in Big South play. GWU was 6-6 in those type games last 2013-2014 18-15 10-6 season. 2014-2015 20-15 10-8 u Senior David Efianayi took over the top spot on Gardner-Webb’s career Division I scoring list (since 2000) vs. Presbyterian 2015-2016 17-16 10-8 (2/27) and moved past Hall of Famer and NBA Draft Pick Dave Bormann for sixth on the all-time scoring list during the Big 2016-2017 19-14 11-7 South quarterfinals. The Orlando, Fla., native has scored 1,735 points, despite spending just 2.5 seasons in the starting lineup. 2017-2018 14-18 9-9 u Freshman swingman Jose Perez has been sensational through 35 games, ranking second on the team at 2018-2019 23-11 10-6 15.0 points per game and leading the team with 5.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. His 509 points are a Division I era record for a freshman for Gardner-Webb and just 53 points shy of former All-America and NBA standout John Drew’s overall PREVIOUS COACHING EXPERIENCE program record of 562 points set in 1972. Perez had four double-doubles and one triple-double to his credit this season.
