WoffordTerriers #ConquerAndPrevail @Wofford_WBB 2015-16 Notes Terriers Corral the Gamecocks Wofford won its first game of the 2015-16 season Saturday against Jacksonville State 66-54 ... The win snapped a eight-game losing streak for the Terriers and a four-game home losing streak, both dating back to the 2014-15 season ... Guard Ashton Fleming recorded her second double-double of the season (15 pts, 10 reb), also the 11th in her career ... The four-game losing streak to start the year was Wofford’s worst start since the 2008-09 season, when the Terriers also started 0-4 before beating Gardner-Webb 78-72 in the fifth game of the season ... The win over the Gamecocks was also only the second time in seven games the Terriers outrebounded the opponent, the other time coming in the loss at Gardner-Webb.

Success at the Charity Stripe Wofford leads the Southern Conference as of December 1 in free throw percentage (74.5 percent), making 82 of 110 attempts at the line ... That mark is also the 43rd best in NCAA Division I ... Guard Jordan Frazier leads the conference and is 35th in the nation with a 90.5 percent rate at the charity stripe (19-21), while guard Ashton Fleming is shooting 72.2 percent (13-18) from the free throw line ... Of all Terriers that have taken at least two free throws, only one of the 11 players is shooting below 50 percent at the free throw line, with seven of the 10 shooting 70 percent or better at the line ... Guard Maria Corella has made 8-8 free throws to begin the season.

Wofford’s Air Jordan Senior guard Jordan Frazier returns as the team’s leading scorer, starting all 26 games she played while averaging 14.8 points per game last year and also leading the Southern Conference with 74 steals (2.8 per game) ... Frazier is on the cusp of many Wofford career acheivements ... She is only 71 points away from becoming the 13th Terrier in program history to notch 1,000 career points ... Her career 10.6 ppg scoring average is 0.8 away from 10th place in Wofford history ... Frazier has made 99 three-pointers in her career, which is currently ninth in Wofford history and is six away from eighth place (Stephanie Ripberger, 105) ... She has also attempted the sixth most three-point shots in school history (348) ... She is a career 78.3 percent free throw shooter (256-327), the second best mark of any Terrier in a career behind Jenny Nett ‘02 (78.5) ... With 226 career steals, Frazier is also currently seventh on Wofford’s career steals list, two away from tying Meg Hunt ‘84 for sixth place (228) ... Frazier shot .347 from three last season, the seventh best mark in a season in Terrier history.

Corella the Sharpshooter Maria Corella currently has the third-best three-point shooting percentage in Terrier history (.347) behind Jen Stasie ‘03 (.415) and Stephanie Ripberger ‘05 (.387) ... Corella for her career has hit 59-170 three point shots ... Corella last season shot .354 from behind the three-point arch, good for sixth best in a single-season in Wofford history ... Her 45 made threes was good for the 10th most in a season for a Terrier player ... The five three-pointers in the season opener at Minnesota set a new career-high for her in a game ... It was also the first time a Terrier hit five threes in a -sin gle game since Rachel Brittenham ‘13 did so in 2012 (5-6 vs. Davidson, 1/9/12) ... The guard is a .348 shooter from two-point range (108-310) and a .800 free-throw shooter (44-55) in her career.

Third-Term Success in Washington Forward Kentra Washington has been the Terriers’ most consistent player through the first seven games of action ... She leads the team with 11.1 ppg, scoring in double figures in five of the first seven games while shooting 34.7 percent from the floor, 4-18 (22.2) from three and 24-35 (68.6) from the free throw line ... Washington recorded her third career double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds) in Monday’s loss at South Carolina State ... She also averaged 6.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals through seven games ... She is fourth in the SoCon lead in steals per game ... Washington last season averaged 7.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists and 0.8 steals in 30 games played.

Senior Leadership The Terriers this season have four seniors on the roster in guards Chanel Stokes, Jordan Frazier and Ashton Fleming along with forward Khadijah Joyner ... Stokes last season started at point guard in every game for the Terriers, logging the most minutes of any player with 985, also the third most minutes in a single season for any Terrier ... She is tied for the team lead in assists/game (2.0) this season ... Fleming started in 29 of the 30 games she played, leading the Terriers in rebounding with 7.3 rebounds per game ... She also notched five double-doubles last season and recorded two double-doubles already this season, giving her 11 in her career ... Joyner led the Terriers in blocked shots last season, making 1.3 blocks per game (35 in 26 games played).

Fresh Faces The Terriers welcome three freshman and a redshirt-sophomore as new additions to the lineup in guards Chloe Wanink and Amoshia Blakeney and forwards Marissa Bayer and Peyton Walker ... Wanink, a Cameron, Wis., native, set many of her high school’s records for points scored ... The guard started in her debut at Minnesota and scored eight points on 4-8 shooting while recording a rebound and two steals ... She scored a career-high 13 points against Charleston Southern Nov. 23, shooting 6-9 from the field ... Wanink is shooting 51.2 percent from the floor through six games, the third best mark in the conference ... Bayer, a Lawrenceville, Ga., native, went to Collins Hill High School, the same school that produced UConn and WNBA star Maya Moore ... The forward collected her first collegiate rebound in eight minutes in her debut and has 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in seven games ... She scored her first collegiate points on 2-2 shooting at Gardner-Webb Nov. 19 ... Walker, a Lithia, Fla., native, was a finalist on the 2014 U17 USA National Team Roster Trials ... The forward scored her first collegiate jumper and tallied two rebounds and an assist in 16 minutes in her debut, then recorded her first collegiate block vs. UNC Asheville and her first three-pointer at Gardner-Webb ... She recorded a season-high five rebounds (four of them offensive) in the win vs. Jacksonville State ... Blakeney, a Columbia, S.C., native, is a transfer from SUNY-Albany that sat out last season due to NCAA transfer rules ... The guard collected two rebounds in 10 minutes in her Wofford debut at Minnesota, then scored her first points on a three vs. UNC Asheville, finishing the game with five points ... She had a breakout game in the win vs. Jacksonville State, setting career-highs in points (11), rebounds (6), assists (2), field goals made (4), and free throws made (2) in the win.

Preseason Polling Wofford was picked by the Southern Conference coaches to finish last in the annual preseason poll ... Defending conference champion Chattanooga was predicted to win the conference, with Furman right behind them and ETSU and Samford tied for third place ... Mercer, UNCG, and Western Carolina rounded out the poll in that respective order ... The Southern Conference media tabbed Wofford to finish seventh of eight teams, with Chattanooga also predicted to win the conference, followed by ETSU, Samford, Furman, Mercer, Western Carolina and then Wofford, with UNCG rounding out the poll.

A Terrier Win Tonight Would... Snap a seven-game losing streak on the road ... Snap a one-game overall losing streak ... Be Wofford’s first win over William & Mary ... Be the second win of the season for the Terriers ... Move the series record vs. William & Mary to 1-1 ... Give Coach Farmer a 1-1 record vs. William & Mary in his career ... Give Wofford a 20-49 overall record against Colonial Athletic Association foes.
