It is the great failure of mankind that innocent children are born into abject poverty or into displacement camps. At SCOOP we are on a mission to build a kinder world for the next generation and to help anyone we can, anyone who is hurting around the world through no fault of their own. ETHOS: Poverty and war are the ultimate failures of mankind, pipped only by our ability to ignore these man made catastrophes. But while the solutions to these problems are complex, the moral premise is simple: be sound - We need to help those that are in need of it. At SCOOP we do that by supporting grass root organisations working tirelessly on the frontlines who are lacking support and resources. Like us, they are the little guy fighting the odds, so we support them in any way we can, giving them the support they need to carry out their life changing work and the support to be able to grow and ultimately help more people. SCOOP 2019 ANNUAL REPORT | 2 The SCOOP Story SCOOP started in 2009 with a small group of like-minded friends throwing club nights, tables quizzes and small art auctions to help home and educate street children in Cambodia and India. But we have grown since to support doctors in war zones, IDP’s & refugees fleeing danger and addressing the homeless crisis here in Ireland. We also want to provide a platform for young people in Ireland to get involved with helping change the world for the better. We also believe in raising funds in a positive manner, steering away from manipulative advertising, bucket shaking or other draconian methods. We treat each cent we raise like our benefactors would and treat each donor with respect, as they are the backbone of our organisation and allow us to carry out the work we do. To create educational systems that transcend borders, class or the limiting circumstances most of the planet find themselves born into. Whether it is educating impoverished children or supporting those forgotten and living indefinitely in camps or supporting mobile clinics in war zones, we want to help those who are on the front lines saving lives and those who are changing the fates of those less fortunate, whether it be from danger or unbreakable poverty cycles, for they are the real change makers and deserve all the support we can give them. CURRENT For the last 10 years we have supported grass root At home in Ireland our StreetSmart campaign raises much OPERATIONS: organisations working in Cambodia, India, Syria, Iraq, needed funds to tackle the homeless crisis by raising Yemen, Kenya and at home in Ireland.
