The Granite State Morgan Horse Society and The Maine Morgan Horse Club are proud to bring you the 2nd Annual Seacoast Morgan Horse Show. We will continue to focus on hospitality and exhibitor experience this year. We hope you enjoy yourselves at the Seacoast this year! —The SMHS Show Committee Rules & Regulations ENTRIES CLOSE June 12, 2017. A copy of Registration papers and lease agreement (if any) must accompany all entry blanks. The show committee and/or Management reserve the right to decline any entry and to return fees before the opening of the show and to prohibit or remove any person from the show without being held liable for compensation. All Morgan horses exhibiting must be registered with the American Morgan Horse Association, Inc., The Canadian Morgan Horse Association or the British Morgan Horse Society or if under one year of age be eligible for registration. AMHA MEDAL CLASSES REFER To USEF AMHA Medal class specifications outlined in Rules Mo164 andMo167 -Mo172. TOURNAMENT DIVISION open to all breeds: Morgan horses in this division may cross enter other classes at the show with a different rider. See Tournament Division for complete rules. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: All horses must have a copy of a negative Coggins test for EIA dated within 6 months of the show date. Foals may use the Coggins of dam. All horses must have a certificate to prove Eastern and Western Equine Encephalitis vaccination has been administered this year. Out of state horses require health certificate to enter state. All horses must have a certificate to prove Equine Influenza Virus and Equine Herpes Virus (Rhinopneumonitis) vaccinations have been administered within the last six months. POST ENTRIES: Post entries will be accepted according to the hours posted in the Horse Show Office and must be made at least one session prior to the class. Management reserves the right to decline a post entry in the case that such an entry would make it necessary for the class to be split. In such cases the exhibitor may elect to be placed on a waiting list to be entered in case of a scratch of a previously entered horse. SCRATCHES: There will be a $25 fee for each time an entry fails to notify the Show Secretary of a scratch prior to the start of a class. ENTRY BLANK: The Management and Staff take no responsibility for exhibitor errors. Owners: please use an additional entry blank and sign again if you have more horses or equitation riders than a single entry blank allows. ENTRY FEES: Unless otherwise noted, Regular classes $30, Championship classes $40, Championship Jackpot classes $50, Breeder’s classes $100, and Dressage classes $30. Non rated NEHC & NHH&TA classes are designated with ♦ and * respectively in the prize list. PAYMENT: All initial fees must be made with entries. The show office will not accept partial payments from more than one person per horse from individuals sharing expenses. A signed blank check will be accepted. Visa, Mastercard and American Express are the only credit cards accepted. There will be a $50 handling charge for all returned checks and or declined credit cards. There will be a $50 fee charged for all accounts not settled at the show. Any account not paid in full within 2 weeks of the end of the show will be reported to USEF and other affiliated organizations for appropriate action. See Rules common to all shows for more information. REFUNDS will be made only upon receipt of a veterinarian’s or doctor’s certificate. No refunds on stall and camper fees after the closing date. EVERY CLASS offered herein, which is covered by the rules and specifications of the NEHC will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. CROSS ENTRIES are allowed between the Classic Pleasure Divisions and the English Pleasure and Pleasure Driving Divisions. Cross entries are allowed between In Hand and Specialty In Hand sections. Horses entered in Tournament Division may be entered into any other class at the show with a different rider/driver. HEADERS AND TAILERS must be at least 16 years of age. SHOW RING ATTIRE: Exhibitors and attendants are required to observe proper show ring attire and decorum. No shorts, jeans or open toed shoes. Any person not properly attired shall be excused from the show ring. Helmets approved for horseback riding (not bicycle helmets) are encouraged for all exhibitors and are mandatory for Lead Line classes & Tournament Classes. MANAGEMENT RESERVES the right to cancel or combine or split any class. Class changes will be posted in the Secretary’s office. HOLDS at the discretion of the Show Manager only. WARM UP AREA: No long lining of horses on the grounds. Lunging is allowed in the warm up area only when classes are not in session. SHARPS CONTAINERS will be posted in marked locations in the barns. PRIZE MONEY will be awarded in the ring by check. Once the check has been awarded the responsibility of the horse show will cease. Checks not cashed within 30 days from the date of issue are void. Prize money for Breeder’s Division will be mailed following the show per program rules. Qualifying: 1st and 2nd place winners in Morgan classes qualify for the Morgan Grand National & World Championships PRIZES: Eight Ribbons & an award will be given in all classes. Dressage division prizes per program rules. Jackpot Classes receive Champion level Ribbons, prize money & a percentage of the entry fees to the winner. AWARDS: Due to loss and damage, challenge Trophies will be used only for presentation photo purposes in center ring. Winner will receive a plaque for their possession. Challenge Trophies will be awarded to the recipient only upon retirement of trophy. STABLING: Box stalls with doors. Horse Stalls/Tack Stalls $135 STABLING MANAGER: John Lampropoulos 603-770-1884. No Stalls will be reserved without payment in full. Any stabling changes from original information on entry blank must be made the Show Secretary to ensure proper billing. Any person requesting additional stalls for another person after receipt of original signed entry blank assumes responsibility for added stalls. All stalls reserved must be paid for even, if not used. If necessary tack stalls may be limited. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURES: Grounds will be open to exhibitors from Wed, July 6th at 5PM to Sunday at Midnight. Early arrivals or late departures must contact John Lampropoulos at 603-770-1884. Additional daily fees of $20 per stall apply. HAY AND SHAVINGS will be available on the grounds and must be paid directly to vendor. Availability hours will be posted. Contact John Lampropoulos at 603-770-1884 to pre-order. All preorders must be in by July 1. FOOD SERVICE AND TACK SHOP available on grounds. DOGS: leash and clean up after all dogs. It is required that all animals on the grounds be vaccinated against Rabies. CAMPER/TENT PARKING with or without electricity and water are available for $150 for the show. Early Arrivals: $30 per day $100 fine for dumping grey water anywhere on the grounds. Pumping is available. SHOW RING (220’ x 120’) FOOTING is multi-texture mixed dirt. Dressage large arena footing is gravel/grass footing. OFFICE and HOSPITALITY: Information regarding stall locations, grounds facilities, etc. will be available at the Horse Show office. Messages may be left there and will be promptly relayed. Show office phone is 603-770-1884. Coffee and doughnuts will be served each morning. MOTORIZED VEHICLE STATEMENT: Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions.

Roadster Horses: In order to compete all horses must be a Standardbred or Standardbred type. Roadster Ponies are not permitted to compete in Roadster Horse classes. a. All horses competing in Federation Licensed Competitions must be properly identified and must obtain a Roadster Horse Identification number from the American Road Horse and Pony Association (ARHPA). An ARHPA Roadster Horse ID number for each horse must be entered on all entry forms for licensed competitions. b. Only one unique ARHPA Roadster Horse ID Number will be issued per horse. This unique ID number must subsequently remain with the horse throughout its career. Anyone knowingly applying for a duplicate ID Number for an individual horse may be subject to disciplinary action. c.     AMERICAN MINIATURE HORSE REGISTRY Driving Performance Division Rules 5.1 Miniature Horse Driving Division – General Rules A. Guidance: The driving division was founded for the purpose of developing and furthering the art and sport of driving for pleasure. A working knowledge of and compliance with the rules are essential. B. The only person to handle the reins, under penalty of elimination, is the driver. No change of driver is per- mitted during any class. C. Dress Code: Headers, Drivers and their passengers should be dressed appropriately. Dress in the show ring is to complement the overall appearance of the unit, not take away from the appearance. 1. Hats for gentlemen are optional, except when in formal attire. 2. Formal wear should not be worn before 5 p.m. un- less stake classes are held in an afternoon perfor- mance session. 3. No strapless dresses in any driving class. Miniature Horse 4. No sandals or open toed shoes to be worn by driver or header. 5. No T-shirts or shorts. 6.
