Jakarta, 16 August 2012 - It is no exaggeration to say that in building a solid and motivated team in Indonesia, Ajit has spurred into life a dynamic degree of engagement between UNODC and our partners in that country – government, civil society and donors alike. Prior to 2008, UNODC’s work in Indonesia was spasmodic and low-key. Now, four years later, in the context of EAP, our Indonesia programme is second only to the Regional Centre in terms of size.

In all of this, Ajit has shepherded a tailoring of UNODC’s skills and resources to the task at hand through his energy, perseverance and commitment. Ajit, we commend you for this great achievement.

Present at Ajit’s farewell party, Deputy Chief of Indonesian National Police, Commissioner General Nanan Sukarna pleaded with him to be always in touch.

Thanks Ajit, and we wish you all the best!
