Donald Sponheim and Rev. Gordon Trygstad officiating. Mr. Pfahning, who underwent open heart surgery on November 1, 1979, died suddenly Sunday, July 6, 1980, while doing light yard work. Visitation was Tuesday afternoon and evening at White Funeral Home. Organist was Beverly Sponheim and soloist was Howard Kehlenbeck. Burial was in Corinthian Cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin Malecha, William Martin, John Beckes, Howard Vickerman, James Deegan and Orville Castle. Gordon Lowell Pfahning was born Oct. 7, 1930, to Thelma and Eldo Pfahning, Dakota Gordon Wells, Minnesota. He attended Wells public schools. Pfahning County Jul/1980 Lowell He spent 30 years with the Minnesota State Highway Tribune Department, excepting for one year of active service in the U.S. Navy. He married Darlene Christensen of Northfield, Minnesota, Dec. 3, 1955. They lived in Farmington, the past 24 years. He was a member of the Farmington Lutheran Church, the Scottish Rite of Minneapolis and Corinthian Masonic Lodge N0. 67 of Farmington and was treasurer for the Minnesota Project Highway Technician Society. Survivors are his wife, Darlene; son, Brad; daughter, Patti at home; mother Thelma Pfahning, Wells; sister, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Stenzel, Chesterfield, Missouri; and brother, Dale, New Hope, Minnesota. Daily News were held Wednesday, May 8, in Trinity Lutheran church, Northfield, the Rev. A. T. Koehler officiating. Mrs. Prinzing, 73, of Forest township died Sunday morning, May 5, 1957, at Northfield Hospital. She had been ill for some time. During the funeral, Mrs. Ray Kalow of Nerstrand sang "The Twenty-third Psalm" and "Now the Light Has Gone Away," accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Leigh Jordahl. Interment was in St. John's Union cemetery in Forest township with Hewert Siemers, Joseph Siemers, Albert Anderson, Herbert Fick, Henry Favro and Henry Dierking acting as pallbearers. Mrs. Prinzing, the former Anna Siemers, was born March 16, 1884, in Forest Township, the daughter of Henry and Margaret Siemers. She attended school in District 66, and resided during her entire lifetime in Forest township. On July 27, 1914 she was married to Ole Eng who died on Nov. 3, 1914. She was married again on May 28, 1918, to Jacob Prinzing. They established their home on the Forest township farm on which they had since lived. Mrs. Prinzing was a member of Trinity church and an honorary member if its Ladies' Aid society. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Cecil Hutton (Marion) of Dundas; two sons, Emmanuel Eng of Dundas and Raymond Prinzing of Forest township; and ten grandchildren. One grandchild, five brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Prinzing, 72, of 65 S. 11th St., Minneapolis, were held Friday, July 11, at 4 p.m. at the Welander-Quist Funeral Home South Chapel in Minneapolis. The Rev. Mr. Ridout of the Wesley Methodist church in Minneapolis officiated. Miss Prinzing was struck by a car near her home shortly after midnight Monday. She died Tuesday night at General Hospital. Six alumni nurses from Northwestern Hospital, dressed in white uniform, served as honorary pallbearers. A large group of Cecelia Faribault Prinzing 16/Jul/1952 nurses from the hospital also attended. Miss Prinzing M. Daily News was born in Forest Township April 11, 1880. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles, and a sister, Louise. Surviving are two brothers, Fred of Faribault and Jacob of Forest. Miss Prinzing was in the nursing profession for 51 years, serving for most of this time at Northwestern. The body was cremated, and the ashes will be placed on the graves of her parents at the St. John’s Cemetery in Millersburg. Attending the funeral were a large number of friends and relatives from this community as well as relatives from Naperville, Ill., and Platteville, Wis.

Last First Newspaper Date Notes Name Name The funeral service for Jacob A. Prinzing was held Friday afternoon, April 17, at Trinity Lutheran church, the Rev. O. H. Cloeter of Faribault officiating. Mrs. Burton Paulsen was vocal soloist at the service and Mrs. Ray Kalow, organist. The evening before the funeral, there had been a family prayer service at the Boldt Funeral Home at Faribault. Interment following the funeral was in St. John’s cemetery, Forest township. Serving as pallbearers were Herbert Fick, Jr., Henry Ludwig, George Prinzing, Roland Prinzing, Hewert Siemers and Joseph Siemers, Jr. Mr. Prinzing, life-long farmer in Forest township, died on Tuesday, April 14, 1964, at Rice County District One Hospital, Faribault, at the age of 94. He had been hospitalized only two days, but had lived at the St. Lucas Convalescent and Geriatics Care Center at Faribault since a brief illness in October, 1962. He had remained quite active and in reasonably good health in his late year. Mr. Prinzing was born February 22, 1870, in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Jacob Faribault Prinzing 22/Apr/1964 Frederick and Pauline (Fink) Prinzing. He lived there August Daily News until he was six, then accompanied his parents to Minnesota where they homesteaded in Forest township. All of his active adult life, he farmed in that same locality and after his retirement continued to live on the farm, operated by his son and daughter- in-law, Mr. And Mrs. Raymond F. Prinzing. He served on the school board of the district in Forest township for many years, held various offices in St. John’s Lutheran church in that community, and was a member of the church cemetery board for many years. He was married on May 28, 1918, in Forest township to Anna Siemers Eng. She preceded his in death on May 5, 1957. He was also preceded by his parents, one brother, two sisters and one grandchild. Surviving him are one daughter, Cecil Hutton (Marion) of Dundas; two sons, Raymond F. Prinzing of Millersburg and Emanuel Eng of Dundas community; 11 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren; one brother, Fred Prinzing of Faribault. PRINZING, JACOB AUGUST

He came to America and located first in Pennsylvania, where he worked for some time in a tannery; coming to Minnesota in the spring of 1878, he settled in Rice county, in Forest township. After leaving school he worked on his father’s farm for several years, and in 1902 bought eighty acres in section 21; this he farms, and he also has charge of his father’s farm. He has two brothers and two sisters: Fred and Charles, both farmers in Forest township; Louise, now Mrs. Keeler, of Winona, and Celia, a graduate of the Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, where she is now employed. He is a member of the Lutheran Church, and in his political views a Republican. He has been road overseer for several years.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON. DECEASED WAS BORN IN WURTENBERG, GERMANY, APRIL 11, 1838, AND CAME TO AMERICA WHEN HE WAS 18 YEARS OLD, LOCATING IN PHILADELPHIA. HERE HE OBTAINED EMPLOYMENT IN A TANNERY WHERE HIS INDUSTRY AND APPLICATION SOON PLACED HIM IN THE POSITION OF FOREMAN WHICH PLACE HE HELD FOR MANY YEARS. IN APRIL, 1877, HE REMOVED TO RICE COUNTY, MINN., ENGAGING IN FARMING, WHICH OCCUPATION HE FOLLOWED UNTIL HIS DEATH. ON JUNE 22, 1867, HE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO PAULINE FINK, WHO WAS ALSO A NATIVE OF GERMANY. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE AND FIVE RICE JOHN CHILDREN, MRS. J. B. KEELER, OF WINONA, PRINZING COUNTY 19/FEB/1913 FREDERICK JACOB, CHARLES AND FRED PRINZING OF JOURNAL FOREST TOWNSHIP, AND CECELIA PRINZING OF MINNEAPOLIS. MR. PRINZING WAS A MAN OF REMARKABLE ENDURANCE AND MENTAL STRENGTH. ABLE AND WILLING IN HIS PRIME TO DO MORE THAN THE AVERAGE MAN, HE DID HIS PART ON THE FARM UNTIL WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF HIS DEATH. HE WAS INTENSELY AND INTELLIGENTLY INTERESTED IN ALL THE ACTIVITES OF THE TIMES AND READ HIS DAILY PAPER EVEN ON THE DAY OF HIS DEATH. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE LUTHERAN CHURCH AND TOOK AN ACTIVE PART IN THE RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS OF HIS COMMUNITY. PUB. 1959. Prinzing, John Frederick . John Frederick Prinzing (1839=1913) was born in Whittenburg, Germany. He emigrated to the United States, landing in Philadelphia, Penn., in 1856, where he was married June 10, 1867, to Paula Fink (1847-1914), who also was born in Germany. They had four children born to them before settling on their 160 acre homestead in section 21, Forest Township, Rice County, Minn., in 1875. Of their five children, three have passed away: Louise (Mrs. Ervin Keeler), Charlie, and Cecelia, who were killed in an automobile accident in 1952. The two still living are Jacob with his wife Anna, on their 80 acre farm adjoining the homestead about three miles southeast of Millersburg, Minn., and Frederick of Faribault, Minn. They have 34 grandchildren and one great- grandchild still living.

Lucille was born June 3, 1920 in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Thomas and Myrtle (Larson) Keane. Following graduation from St Paul Park High School in 1938, she worked as a switchboard and information operator in St Paul for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company until 1944. She was also a member of a Drum and Bugle Corp, marching in the St Paul Winter Carnival and the Minneapolis Aquatenial. While living in St Paul, she was active in Girls Scouts as a member and leader. She married Raymond FARIBAULT LUCILLE Frederick Prinzing June 3, 1944 in PRINZING DAILY 25/FEB/2011 St. Paul, Minnesota and then MAE NEWS moved to Forest Township of Rice County; where they farmed for many years. Following Ray's death in 1975, Lucille remained on the farm for 9 years and moved into Northfield in 1983. Lucille was very active in her community and church and was recognized for her community service during Jesse James Days. She served as a 4-H Leader, belonged to the Forest Township Extension, and was a 50 year member of her community card club. Lucille was instrumental in reactivating the German Union Cemetery Association and served as treasurer for many years. She sang in the church choir at Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML),

Lucille is survived by her two daughters Karen (James) Lacey of Green Bay, WI and Joanne (Vilnis) Giga of Owatonna, MN; six grandchildren, John (Dana) Lacey, James Jr (Sophia) Lacey, Joseph (Mari) Lacey, Julie (Ben) Ehlers, Mark (Whitney) Giga and Erik Giga; and eight great- grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant daughter Jeanette, a brother Thomas and a stepsister Zella Beth Shaw. Funeral services will be Monday, February 28, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Northfield, with the Reverend Armand Boehme, officiating. Interment will be in German Union Cemetery, Forest Township, Rice County. Daily News Prinzing, 86, of 617 NW Seventh St., Faribault and formerly of Forest Township, who passed away on Friday afternoon, August 20, at the Wood's Nursing Home, following a brief illness, were held on Monday, August 23, at 10:30 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Faribault, with the Rev. Robert H. Sorenson officiating. G. H. Prigge was the organist who provided the appropriate music. Pallbearers were Irvin Jeno, Luverne Jeno, Norman and Reuben Prinzing and Alvin and Arnold Wadekamper. Interment was in St. John's Cemetery in Forest Township. Martha Beyer was born on July 28, 1878, at Bremerhaven, Germany, to William and Fredericka Buse Beyer, who preceded her in death. She was wed on August 30, 1905, at Faribault, to Frederick Prinzing, who survives her. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church. Mrs. Prinzing is survived by: her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Pearl) Jeno of Bixby, and Mrs. Elsie Wadekamper of Faribault; two sons, Herbert of Elysian and George of Cannon Falls; 25 grandchildren and 28 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
