Manders’ Menageries & Shows Many friends will know that the FHT and Dave Page have redeveloped the old website run for many years by Dave known as thegalloper.com. This had a very successful forum used by many genealogists tracing travelling families. From this has sprung a new publication by the Fairground Society, also inspired by one of the rare items on the trust’s collection: the original archway from Manders’ Grand Star Menagerie. Several members of the family used thegalloper.com forum to try to find out more about the Manders’ family history and this research has been brought together by Kevin Scrivens and Stephen Smith in the booklet. Copies of the booklet are available from the F.H.T. book sales, price £5, see Above: The archway originally from Manders’ Menagerie front. the advertisement later in the newsletter.
