RACHAEL POCKLINGTON INSTITUTE COMMUNICATIONS

The Price Gilbert and Crosland Tower renewal project, known on campus as Library Next, will begin its first major phase of construction in late July. This phase will focus on the Crosland Tower renovation and includes the removal of the connecting bridge, stairs, and walkways between the two library buildings.

Construction on Crosland Tower is expected to finish in fall 2018, at which time Crosland Tower will reopen and function as the main library while Price Gilbert undergoes its renovation. The entire Library renewal project is scheduled to be completed and fully open in early 2020. This month, construction fencing will be in place for the safety of the community, and wayfinding signage will be installed at appropriate locations around the construction site. Major impacts will include the elimination Rendering Courtesy of BNIM The new Price Gilbert Library (to the right) will have its main entrance facing north, toward the entrance to the Hinman see LIBRARY, page 4 Research Building. Crosland Tower (to the left) will be opened up with windows to replace the existing brick.
