A visit to historical place is very happy experience.I wakeup very arly morning and get redy to go visit historical places of mumbai .I am very excited to visit the places. In covid situation. The journey began by meeting at kalyan station by “6:30am" Our ANO suvarna Jadhav ma’am organize to visit the historical places in mumbai .such as Azad Maidan, kala Ghoda,Mani bhavan ect. Then we had to visit that our ANO ma’am,My senior and my collegus. 1st I visit to Azad Maidan. We go there and see the place it’s very beautiful &so many people are there we go there and stand properly Posters hold in their hand & Take the photographs AZAD MAIDAN (formerly known as bombay Gymkhana Maidan)a triangulary-shaped maidan (sports ground) in the city of Mumbai,India It is located on 25 acres of land near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus station. It is a regular venue for inter-school cricket matches. The name Azad means "liberty" in Persian. The ground is known for its cricket pitches, for protest meetings, and for political rallies, The Bombay Gymkhana clubhouse was built in 1875, at the southern end of the maidan Then after we go to 2nd destination i.e KALA GHODA there we took many pictures with help of posters. The name Kala Ghoda means Black Horse, a reference to the presence of a black stone statue of king Edward( as the then Prince of Wales) mounted on a horse that was built by Jewish businessman and philanthropist Albert Abdullah David Sassoon although this statue was removed from the precinct in 1965 and subsequently placed inside the Byculla Zoo. A local legend stated that the statues of King Edward and the one of Shivaji on a horse at the Gateway of India came to life after midnight and battled it out on the streets. In 2017, the 'Kala Ghoda' returned to the area with a new statue of a similar looking horse without a rider, being commissioned by the Kala Ghod Association. The statue, titled 'Spirit of Kala Ghoda' was designed by architect Alfaz Miller and sculpted by Shreehari Bhosle. The Esplanade Mansion, India's oldest surviving cast iron building, is in Kala Ghoda. Formerly known as Watson's Hotel, it was the site where films were introduced to India with a screening of the lumiere Brothers Cinematograph in 1896. The offices of art publication, Marg, are on the third floor of the historic Army and Navy Building. In the end we went to MANI BHAVAN which was the residence of the MAHATMA GANDHI . Clicks the pictures . Mani Bhavan (lit. 'Jewel House') is a museum and historical building dedicated to Gandhi, situated at Laburnum Road in the Gamdevi precinct of Mumbai. Mani Bhavan was the focal point of Gandhi’s political activities in Mumbai between 1917 and 1934. Then we have a refreshments along with tea ending our tour we had a tune together, I enjoy the this journey learning many things and see the beautiful places in mumbai and I click some pictures. .

Mujawar, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D. ================================================= Courtesy: http://www.cse.iitk.ac.in/users/amit/books/kolatkar-2011-collected-poems- in.html Abstract Arun Kolatkar’s Kala Ghoda depicts postmodern socio-political India. It represents the life of the underprivileged and highlights its absolute disparity with the technological and material progress of India. It portrays the lives of people living on the streets - sweepers, lepers, prostitutes, beggars, drunkards, and others like them. It brings objects, animals, rubbish, and ecology together. Kolatkar observes the marginalized poor, against the overcrowded, advanced, capitalistic Mumbai, to pinpoint that their condition has not changed in post-colonial India. Their condition was neither good in the pre-British times, nor did it improve in the colonial period, and continues to go on in the same miserable drudgery even today! The features of postmodernism like irony, humour, minimalism, techno culture, writing of the long poem by dividing it into shorter pieces, consumerism, commodity glorification, identity crisis and so on, are all reflected in Kala Ghoda. Kolatkar does not indulge in the past traditions of India, but focuses on the wider, modern world and the people living in capitalist urbanization. Derived from the industrial district conceptualized by Alfred Marshall in the late 19th century and revisited in the 1980s in Italy by the theorists of the regulation and, in particular Giacomo Becattini, it came to designate more or less concentrated area specialized in art activities, initiated either by small-scales industries or public institutions or both.

  • Mumbai Retail Guide
MUMBAI Cushman & Wakefield Global Cities Retail Guide Cushman & Wakefield | Mumbai | 2019 0 Mumbai serves as the financial capital of India and accounts for the highest GDP contribution in the country, currently standing at approximately 6.61%. Mumbai is the second most populated city in the country with a population of approximately 22 million. Mumbai’s retail market is characterised by smaller disorganised retailers or corner shops retailing various commodities ranging from food to clothes and other household items, as is the case across most cities and towns in India. Rapid economic growth and changing consumer preferences have transformed Mumbai’s retail market, with organised retail increasingly playing a much larger part. Over the years, several large organised developments have sprung up across the city, ranging from mass to premium and luxury. Several local and international luxury brands have opened stores in Mumbai and many consider the city a launch pad for their brand. The presence of Bollywood, one of the world’s leading movie industries, has fuelled the growth of organised retail in Mumbai, with many stars endorsing both local and global brands alike. Brands such as H&M, GAP, Sephora, Scotch & Soda, Muji, Massimo Dutti, Jo Malone, Longchamp, American Eagle, Armani Exchange, Hackett, Onitsuka Tiger, Hamley's, Simon Carter, Du Rhône Chocolatier, Bath & Body Works, Franck Muller, Hublot have all entered the Mumbai retail market. New entrants tend to open stores in malls first, within prominent retail developments, then subsequently establish a footprint on major streets. Luxury labels benefit from high-net-worth individuals (HNI) in Mumbai, many of whom travel abroad frequently and have high disposable incomes.
