During the current field season, an additional resource of 0.07 MT of gold has been estimated in Bhukia area, Banswara district, Rajasthan augmenting the resource to 105.81 MT (with 0.5 g/t gold at 1 meter stopping width) with associated copper, cobalt and nickel. At 0.5 g/t gold at 2 meter stopping width the total resources are 91.74 MT. At 0.20% cut off and 2 m stoping width a total of 27.57 MT of Copper resources with 0.39% average grade have been estimated. Additional resource of copper has been estimated in the Khera Block, Mundiyawas Khera area, Alwar district. Based on the analytical results of the first borehole and part of the second borehole about 15 million tonnes of copper with 0.30% Cu has been estimated. Significant Pb-Zn mineralization has been intersected in the borehole in the Salampura block, Pur-Banera belt, Bhilwara district, and Cu mineralization in the Mahawa block, Sikar district, Rajasthan. The REE mineralization in Dhani Granite, Pali district, Rajasthan, is hosted in the granite as well as in the pseudo-tachylite veins along the brittle – ductile shear zone. Additional resource of Limestone (441.70 million tonnes of SMS grade and 514.84 million tones of Cement grade) has been estimated during the current field season. 8. From 33rd OCG batch the number of geologists joined at Jaipur and Gandhinagar are 18 and 5 respectively. All of them have been assigned field items, 17 in Mission-I (13 in Rajasthan i WR Geological Survey of India Unit & 4 in Gujarat Unit) and 6 in Mission-II (5 in Rajasthan Unit & 1 in Gujarat Unit). • A Study of Fluoride Contaminated Ground Water in Uniara Tehsil, District -Tonk, Rajasthan, India
A Study of Fluoride Contaminated Ground Water in Uniara Tehsil, District -Tonk, Rajasthan, India Mohammad Arif Banasthali Vidyapeeth University, Banasthali, Rajasthan India S. Joshi Public D. N. Postgraduate College, Hisar-125001, Haryana, India Sudesh Kumar Banasthali Vidyapeeth University, Banasthali, Rajasthan India KEYWORDS Fluoride, fluorosis, groundwater, Uniara tehsil, Rajasthan ABSTRACT Water is an essential natural resource for sustaining life and environment that we have always thought to be available in abundance and the free gift of nature however the chemical composition of surface or subsurface water is one of the prime factors on which the suitability of water for domestic, industrial and agriculture purpose depends. Fresh water occurs as surface water and ground water contributes only 0.6% of the total water resources on earth. Ground water is the major and preferred source of drinking water in rural and urban areas particularly in India. Groundwater containing dissolved ions beyond the permissible limit is harmful and not suitable for domestic use. In India fluoride is a major inorganic pollutant which natural origin in groundwater. Fluoride is a fairly common element that does not occur in the elemental state in nature because of its high reactivity. This is the 17th element in order of abundance of element in the earth’s crust found as a complex fluoride. Fluorine is most electronegative element hence never found in nature as fluorine. Fluoride occurs in combined form of minerals as fluoride and represents .06 to .09% of the earth crust (WHO, 1970).Serious problems are being faced in several parts of the world due to the presence of high concentration of fluoride in drinking water which causes dental and skeletal fluorosis.

  • The Statistical Assesment of Fluoride and Nitrate Contamination Status of Ground Water in Various Tehsils of District Jaipur, Rajasthan, India
International Journal of Research Studies in Biosciences (IJRSB) Volume 3, Issue 3, March 2015, PP 107-131 ISSN 2349-0357 (Print) & ISSN 2349-0365 (Online) www.arcjournals.org The Statistical Assesment of Fluoride and Nitrate Contamination Status of Ground Water in Various Tehsils of District Jaipur, Rajasthan, India Prof. (Dr.) Umesh Saxena Swati Saxena M.Sc., M.Tech, Ph.D Research Scholar Principal and Professor, Chanakya Technical Gyan Vihar University Campus, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India Jaipur, Rajasthan (India) [email protected] [email protected] Abstract: Water is an essential natural resource for sustaining life and environment but over the last few decades the water quality is deteriorating due to its over exploitation. Water quality is essential parameter to be studied when the overall focus is sustainable development keeping mankind at focal point. Groundwater is the major source of drinking water in rural as well as in urban areas and in India over 94% of the drinking water demand is met by groundwater. Fluoride and nitrate are the critical chemical parameters, which influence the quality of ground water. Excess intake of fluoride and nitrate through drinking water cause fluorosis and methaemoglobinaemia (blue baby disease) on human beings in many states of India, including Rajasthan. This paper provides the actual status of fluoride and nitrate contamination in Bassi, Amer, Chomu, Jamwa Ramgarh, Kotputali, Shahpura and Virat Nagar Tehsils of Jaipur District, Rajasthan, India. Paper also gives a brief idea about sources of fluoride and nitrate in ground water and extent of fluorosis and methaemoglobinaemia in these areas. As per the desirable and maximum permissible limit for fluoride and nitrate in drinking water, determined by WHO, BIS and ICMR standards, a lot of groundwater sources are unfit for drinking purposes.
