Kandy- often referred to as the hill capital of Sri Lanka, this bustling town offers a diverse variety of experiences to its visitors ranging from history, culture and simple scenic beauty coupled with a touch of urbanity. It was the last Sinhalese Kingdom that fell under British rule in 1815. The journey to this mellow weathered city can be quite enjoyable, particularly by train owing to the scenic delights that lie alongside. The city’s colonial architecture has been preserved well even in the backdrop of rapid urbanization. Close to the city’s centre is the prime landmark - Sri Dalada Maligawa that houses the sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Meals: Dinner Day 2 Kandy After breakfast, at leisure till noon. you will enjoy a city tour of Kandy in the afternoon including a visit to Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Cultural dance performance - according to legend, the origins of the dance lies in a dance ritual Southern Sri Lanka Tour known as the Kohomba Kankariya (named for the deity Kohomba), which is also known as Kohomba Yak Kankariya or simply Kankariya. Traditional dance masters believe that originally the king of a place referred to as "Malaya Rata", and his two brothers, performed the first Kohomba Kankariya. Some believe that this "Malaya Rata" was located in India. Return to the hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Kandy. Tea Factory or Tea Processing Center - There are hundreds of Tea factories in the Central Highlands, the Uva region and in the Southern parts of Sri Lanka. Some of these factories are situated in breathtakingly beautiful landscape, surrounded by indeed serene green gardens of tea. A casual tourist to this island cannot call his visit complete if he does not pay a visit to some of them. Visitors to any of these Centers are normally treated with typical Sri Lankan courtesy and normal given an educative, guided tour on the various stages of tea manufacturing After arrived to Nuwara Eliya and enjoy sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya Nuwara Eliya - Dubbed the ‘Little England of Sri Lanka’, Nuwara Eliya is located in the thick, misty hills of this paradise isle, 180 km away from Colombo. One can bask in the picturesque views and the rich history while walking through the narrow, cobbled streets, relish a meal from one of the interesting restaurants within the Fort or enjoy the cool sea-breeze beneath the landmark lighthouse. Other fabulous options available during this excursion (at additional cost) is a hiking/camping trip at the Kanneliya forest reserve, a boat ride in the Koggala lagoon or a visit to one of the turtle hatcheries along the southern coastal line Return to the hotel.
