The study reveals that the institutes meant for the visually challenged should increase access, availability and funding for assistive technology through efforts and initiatives. Only one institute in Medinipur division i.e. Vivekananda Mission Asram (VMA) uses sufficient Braille resources and Assistive technology.

Paschim Medinipur district in the past has experienced disasters like flood, drought, cyclone etc. In the year 2013 the district experienced five successive spells of flood due to heavy rainfall in upper catchment areas and huge discharge from dams. We have also faced flood during the year 2015. A havoc flood in 2017 caused enormous loss to humn lives and properties. We can minimize the suffering of the affected people by providing assistance to them in case of emergency.
