TA Dragon Boat Festival 2015 (Eng) Traffic Advice Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for Dragon Boat Festival 2015 Members of the public are advised that to facilitate the holding of the dragon boat races on 20 June 2015 (Saturday), the following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented: A. Southern District I. SPECIAL TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS 1. Road Closure and Pedestrian Precinct (a) Kwun Hoi Path near Ocean Court, Stanley Link Road and Hoi Fung Path will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic except for vehicles of local residents, police and emergency service vehicles from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm on 20 June 2015; (b) Stanley New Street and Stanley Market Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic except for vehicles of local residents, vehicles with permits, police and emergency service vehicles from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm on 20 June 2015; and (c) Stanley Main Street will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 7.00 am to 11.00 pm on 20 June 2015 and designated as the pedestrian precinct. 2. Suspension of Parking Spaces The following parking spaces will be suspended from 6.00 am to 7.00 pm on 20 June 2015: (a) All parking spaces on Stanley Link Road; (b) The public carpark on Stanley Beach Road near the Refuse Collection Point; (c) All metered parking spaces on Carmel Road; (d) Four on-street metered parking spaces and a disabled parking space on Stanley Beach Road between Stanley Mound Road and Stanley Village Road; (e) 16 parking spaces next to the covered walkway and near the Refuse Collection Point at Shek O Beach Public Carpark; and (f) All metered parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces on Island Road (except disabled parking spaces). II. PUBLIC TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS 3. Bus Services (a) The following bus services will be strengthened subject to passenger demand on 20 June 2015: NWFB Route Origin - Destination Route 9 : Shau Kei Wan - Shek O Route 14 : Sai Wan Ho (Grand Promenade) Public Transport Interchange - Stanley Fort Gate (Circular) Route 65 : North Point Ferry - Stanley Village CTB Route Origin - Destination Route 73 : Cyberport / Wah Fu (North) - Stanley Prison Route 260 : Central (Exchange Square) - Stanley Prison Cross Harbour : Tsim Sha Tsui East (Mody Road) - Stanley Route 973 (b) Special arrangement will be implemented for the following bus routes on 20 June 2015 to suit the passengers demand: NWFB Route Origin - Destination Special Arrangement Route 9 : Shau Kei Wan – Shek O The departures via Cape D’Aguilar for both bounds will be adjusted to 30 minutes headways between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm Route 14 : Sai Wan Ho (Grand - Additional departures will be Promenade) Public operated, but omit Stanley Transport Interchange – Plaza Stanley Fort Gate (Circular) - Departures from Grand Promenade may omit the bus stop on Stanley Village Road outside Stanley Village Bus Terminus subject to traffic condition Route 65 : North Point Ferry – - Additional short working : Stanley Village service between Repulse Bay - 2 - and Tin Hau may be operated subject to passenger demand and traffic condition - A temporary alighting bus stop will be designated at Stanley Villiage Road outside Stanley Village Bus Terminus CTB Route Origin - Destination Special arrangement Route 6 : Central (Exchange - Headway will be adjusted to Square) – Stanley Prison 15 minutes in average - Some departures operated between 8:05 am and 7:00 pm will omit Chung Hom Kok and Ma Hang Route 6X : Central (Exchange - Headway will be adjusted to Square) – Stanley Prison 15 minutes in average - Additional trips will be operated from Ma Hang to Central (Exchange Square) Route 73 : Wah Fu (North)/ - Headway from Cyberport will Cyberpory – Stanley be adjusted to 20 minutes Prison between 4:10 pm and 6:10 pm Route 314 : Siu Sai Wan (Island - All departures will omit Tung Resort) – Stanley Tau Wan Road (Circular) - All bus stops along Tung Tau Wan Road will be suspended. - The bus stop on Stanley Village Road outside Old Stanley Police Station (Siu Sai Wan bound) will be suspended. A temporary stop will be provided at Stanley Beach Road outside Stanley Main Beach Route 260 : Central (Exchange - 1st departure from Central Square) – Stanley Prison (Exchange Sqaure) will be advanced to 6.55 am - Full-load departures from - 3 - Central (Exchange Square) will omit stops outside Admiralty Garden and Immigration Tower. - Special trips will be operated from Stanley Beach Road outside Stanley Main Beach to Central (Exchange Square) between 3.30 pm and 7.00 pm Cross Harbour : Tsim Sha Tsui East - Departures from Stanley Route 973 (Mody Road) – Stanley between 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm will omit Ocean Park. - Additional departures will be operated from Ocean Park to Tsim Sha Tsui (Mody Road) between 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm - Some depatures between 9:40 am and 7:00 pm from Stanley will omit Tung Tau Wan Road subject to traffic condition 4. Temporary Relocation/ Suspension of Bus Stops (a) The bus stops for Routes 6X and 260 on Island Road (westbound) (opposite to the golf course) will be temporarily relocated westwards for about 15 metres from 6.00 am to 7.00 pm on 20 June 2015. (b) The terminus of NWFB Route 9 is designated at Shek O Beach Public Carpark from 6.00 am to 7.00 pm on 20 June 2015. (c) Temporary bus stops for alighting only will be provided on Stanley Village Road outside Stanley Police Station and Carmel Road (westbound) near Stanley Village Road, if necessary. (d) The bus stop for Routes 6, 6X, 65, 73, 260 and 973 on Repulse Bay Road westbound (outside Repulse Bay Villa) will be temporary suspended from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm on 20 June 2015. 5. Suspension of Ferry Service The ferry service between Aberdeen and Ap Lei Chau will be suspended from 7.00 am to 5.00 pm on 20 June 2015 during the dragon boat race in Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter. - 4 - 6. Suspension and Relocation of Taxi Stands (a) The taxi stand on Kwun Hoi Path (near Ocean Court) will be suspended from 8.00 am to 7.00 pm on 20 June 2015; (b) The taxi stand on Stanley Village Road will be temporarily relocated to Carmel Road outside Carmelite Monastery from 6.00 am to 7.00 pm on 20 June 2015; and (c) The taxi stand on Repulse Bay Road opposite to the Repulse Bay will be suspended from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm on 20 June 2015. 7. Relocation of GMB Stops The stop for GMB Route 40 on Stanley Beach Road and the stops for GMB Routes 40 and 52 at No. 88 Stanley Village Road will be temporarily relocated to the location of existing taxi stand on Stanley Village Road from 6.00 am to 7.00 pm on 20 June 2015. 8. Removal of Illegal Parking Vehicles Any vehicle found illegally parked within the precinct of the following roads may be towed away by the Police without prior notice. (a) Stanley Mount Road; (b) Stanley New Street; (c) Stanley Market Road; (d) Stanley Beach Road; (e) Stanley Main Street; (f) Stanley Link Road; (g) Wong Ma Kok Road; (h) Tung Tau Wan Road; (i) Hoi Fung Path; (j) Cape Road near Ma Hang Estate; and (k) Carmel Road. B. Tuen Mun District I. SPECIAL TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS 1. Road Closure The following road sections in Tuen Mun will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic, except for police vehicles, emergency vehicles and vehicles permitted by police on site, from 7.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. on 20 June 2015: (a) The section of the unnamed access road connecting Wu Shan Road (near Wu Hong Street) between its cul-de-sac and the entrance of the open-air carpark; and (b) The unnamed access road connecting Wu Shan Road (opposite to Wu Shan Bowling Green). - 5 - C. Tai Po District The following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Tai Po Industrial Estate: I. SPECIAL TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS 1. Road Closure (a) Dai King Street, Dai Hei Street and the section of Dai Kwai Street between Dai Cheong Street and Dai Hei Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except for taxis, emergency vehicles and those vehicles authorized by police officers on site, from 7.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on 20 June 2015; and (b) The section of Dai Kwai Street between Dai Hei Street and Tai Po Waterfront Park will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic, except for emergency vehicles and those vehicles authorized by police officers on site, from 7.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on 20 June 2015. 2. Closure of Cycle Track The cycle track inside Tai Po Waterfront Park near Tai Po Industrial Estate will be temporarily closed and cycling will be prohibited from 7.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on 20 June 2015. 3. Suspension of Parking Spaces The metered car park in Dai Shing Street and the metered parking spaces on Dai Hei Street and Dai King Street will be temporarily closed to all vehicles except emergency vehicles and those authorized by police officers on site from 7.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. on 20 June 2015. II. PUBLIC TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS 4. Bus Route Diversion and Suspension of Bus Stops KMB Route No. 72A (Tai Wai Station – Tai Po Industrial Estate) will omit the section of Dai Kwai Street south of its junction with Dai Cheong Street, Dai Hei Street and Dai King Street on its journeys to and from Tai Po Industrial Estate Bus Terminus from 7.00 a.m.

The service changes have been made to better serve the travelling public and to improve the efficiency of bus operation. They should be formalised to ensure the continued provision of these services. THE ORDERS 3. The following changes to the services of the five franchised bus companies were introduced under section 15(1) of the Ordinance between 8 November 2004 and 30 April 2006, with the agreement of the franchised bus companies concerned - (a) Kowloon Motor Bus Company (1933) Limited introduced one new route, cancelled four routes and made alterations to 107 routes; (b) Citybus Limited operates two bus franchises. The company introduced one new route, cancelled three routes and made alterations to 24 routes in respect of its franchise for Hong Kong Island and cross-harbour bus services. The company also introduced two new routes and made alterations to nine routes in respect of its franchise for North Lantau and Chek Lap Kok Airport bus services; (c) New World First Bus Services Limited cancelled six routes and made alterations to 36 routes; (d) New Lantao Bus Company (1973) Limited cancelled two routes and made alterations to six routes; and (e) Long Win Bus Company Limited introduced three new routes and made alterations to nine routes.

    Annex 2 Leisure and Cultural Services Department (1) Who in the Administration is responsible for the promotion and development of leisure marine activities and water sports? LCSD currently manages five water sports centres (Stanley(2), Sai Kung (2) and Tai Po (1)) in the territory for provision of learning opportunity to the public on dinghy sailing, windsurfing and canoeing through skill training courses ranging from beginner to proficiency levels. The public who have possessed with basic boat /board handling skills with relevant certificates can hire the craft available in water sports centres for self-practice in the designated inshore waters. (2) Will the Administration provide an overview of all private and public facilities supporting leisure marine and water sports facilities in the Southern District (piers, landings, moorings, storage, clubs, and so forth)? The current and forecasted usage of each facility? And identify which ones are required and which ones require expansion? Among the LCSD water sports centres, two water sports centres situated in Stanley of Southern District, namely St. Stephen's Beach Water Sports Centre and Stanley Main Beach Water Sports Centre. LCSD has reported the usage of the two Water Sports Centres to the District Facilities Management Committee Meeting of Southern District Council for members' reference. January 2012 Marine Department 1) Marine Department (MD) is responsible for ship and navigational safety matters in Hong Kong waters. If there is any proposal on the development of water sports and leisure facilities in the Southern District and the provision of pier facilities in Deep Water Bay and Repulse Bay, the department would provide comments from marine traffic and vessel safety perspectives.

    Grading of beach water quality released The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) today (August 27) released the latest grading of water quality for 39 gazetted beaches (see Note 1) and one non-gazetted beach (i.e. Discovery Bay, see Note 2). Twenty-two beaches were rated as Good (Grade 1), 15 as Fair (Grade 2) and three as Poor (Grade 3).
