In a particular way, I am grateful for the way the Children of Hope pro- gram nurtures the faith of the young, and forms them in a devotion that will sus- tain them throughout their lives and makes it possible for them to join their par- ents and other adult Catholics in prayer…‖ Most Reverend Francis Cardinal George, OMI, Archbishop of Chicago ―The Children of Hope ministry started in our Diocese of Peoria, Illinois in 1996 by the Brothers of St John and has now spread all over the world. It has greatly helped to bring thousands of children and families to Eucharistic Adora- tion now implemented within the Religious Education program of numerous dio- ceses.‖ As Bishop of the Diocese of Peoria, I gladly bless this much needed min- istry diligently carried out by the Brothers and Sisters of St John and by numer- ous Catholics worldwide.‖ Most Reverend Bishop Daniel Jenky, Bishop of Peoria "I am very pleased to know that thousands of children have been led into Eucha- ristic adoration, in Catholic schools and parishes in the past few years, through the help of the Brothers of St. John. • The Era of Peace Thus Far, Among the Signs Given by Our Lord and The
The Era of Peace Thus far, among the signs given by Our Lord and the Church heralding the approach of the close of this Age as we know it, we have considered “Apostasy”, “Globally Applied Pressures to Conform to an Anti-God Agenda”, “False Prophets and the False Prophet”, and “Global Persecution of the Church”. We saw that, taken together, these signs can be expected to culminate in an all-out war between Christ and Satan which will result in Satan’s defeat and subsequent confinement and in the dawn of a New Era within human history which will see the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and a Period of Peace for mankind. Many Christians, schooled in a certain way of thinking, are surprised and perplexed to learn that there will be an interim period of peace for the world before the final and permanent defeat of Satan and the end of the world. What these Christians expect any day now, or at least at any given moment, is the “Parousia” or the coming of the Son of Man on the clouds of Heaven which will lead directly to the Final Judgment and the descent New Heavens and the New Earth, with no interim Period of Peace. They are even more surprised to discover that the expectation of such a Period of Peace within history before the Parousia was virtually universal in the Church from earliest times until the Fifteenth Century, when for complex reasons related to the Spanish Inquisition it became dangerous to espouse it. St Augustine was misquoted by the inquisitors as an authority to oppose any expectation of a Period of Peace within history despite the fact that his greatest literary work, The City of God, was entirely devoted to it.

  • Marthe Robin an Outstanding Witness of Hope Preamble
POSTULATION OF THE CAUSE OF CANONISATION Elements regarding the life of Marthe Robin and her canonisation process By Sophie Guex, postulator Rome / Châteauneuf-de-Galaure ----- 30 september 2020 Marthe Robin an outstanding witness of hope Preamble The Cerf publishing house recently announced the publication, scheduled for 8 October 2020, of a book by Fr Conrad De Meester, called The mystical fraud of Marthe Robin. The author, a Carmelite priest who died in December 2019, was one of the 28 experts asked to contribute to the beatification process of Marthe Robin, as a specialist in the writings of Thérèse of Lisieux and Elisabeth of the Trinity. As such, he was responsible for examining and evaluating the writings of Marthe Robin. The postulation has not had access to the text of this work that was first revealed to two media outlets, including Paris-Match. However, according to the information we have, this work essentially repeats the theses contained in the report sent in 1989 – and completed in 1994 – by Fr De Meester to Bishop Didier-Léon Marchand, president of the diocesan commission of inquiry. At this stage, the postulation does not know whether Fr De Meester added new elements to his work. If so, the postulation will take the greatest care to diligently examine them. In any case, the De Meester report, which is unfavourable on certain points and favourable on others, was comprehensively and precisely examined as part of the canonisation inquiry, and weighed against the other expert assessments. The unfavourable assertions of the De Meester report were not retained and, after examining all the documents, testimonies and expert assessments, the Catholic Church, by the authority of Pope Francis, declared the heroic virtues of Marthe Robin in 2014, opening up the way to a possible beatification.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. (John 6:56). Jesus gave up his body for us on Calvary and gives up his body for us in every Mass so that we may receive him in Holy Communion. It is the one sacrifice on Calvary extended through time to us at Mass. Some misunderstand and think Catholics say Jesus is sacrificed again during every Mass. No, it is the one sacrifice of Jesus on Calvary which is extended through time to us in every Mass. In the Gospel passage Jesus is really explaining what takes place during the Last Supper and every Mass. Those who were listening to Jesus knew he was not talking in symbols; they started arguing afterwards about what he had just said, “The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us (his) flesh to eat?” (John 6:52). It was clear to them that Jesus was talking about his flesh as bread and it would become clear for his listeners later that he really did mean that the bread of the Eucharist becomes his flesh. Why was there no room for confusion? We have no idea how horrifying it would have been for Jesus’ Jewish listeners to hear him talking of consuming blood.
