Not content being just London Champions, the team then went on to take the National Championship – a fantastic success and an achievement everyone at LYG are extremely proud of. The Richmond Inclusive Zone Basketball also progressed to the National Champs after winning LYG and finished OUR PARTNERS a fantastic 5th place. Tower Hamlets got off to a great start in their pursuit to be crowned Regatta AND FRIENDS champions, medalling in both Kayak events and Greenwich scored great ParaGames Trophy points in the pool, medalling in both PG Swimming events. Regatta and ParaGames trophies will be awarded on stage at finals weekend after all events are completed. Although off to a great start, Bromley have tough competition in this year’s Jubilee Trophy challenge.     Westminster Secondary Schools PE & School Sport Offer 2019-20 The Physical Activity, Leisure and Sport (PALS) team formerly Westminster Sports Unit is uniquely placed to offer a comprehensive service to schools at the best possible value. We can broker quality services from partners in education, sport and physical activity to help develop and deliver a full PE and school sport offer to your school. The team has the support of a full time School Games Organiser (Angela Emanuel) and a Relationship Manager for Sport (Jon Hearn) and unlike commercial providers; there is no premium to cover the cost of overheads or profit margins. There are two membership options: • Full PESS Membership (access to the whole Westminster PE and School Sport package) o Single-sex Schools £250 o Mixed Schools £500 • Half PESS Membership (access to up to 5 one-day competitions. Please note entry to the leagues is not included) o £150 PESS membership gives you access to the following services: Competition: • Annual competition calendar: 21 competition days, covering 11 different sports and including some School Games Level 2 competitions. • Fixtures, venues and officials organised for two female leagues (Netball and Basketball) and two male leagues (Football and Basketball). Leadership Academy: • The Leadership Academy runs throughout the Academic year, starting with a conference in September and finishing with a celebration in June.     December Physical Activity Challenges 11 Introduction Welcome to the Islington Healthy Schools Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity teams' (PESSPA) Physical Activity Advent Calendar! The calendar offers children different physical activities to do throughout the advent calendar month of December. Some of the activities can be done by the children in the playground, some should be done in school time and there are also activities for the children to do at the weekends. The activities are varied and fun and there should be something for everyone, from the least to the most active. Feel free to do different activities to the ones in the calendar, the most important thing is that the children are active every day. Please encourage the children to use the calendar. You can print them and hang them in school and you can email them to parents. Encourage the children to do the activities that are both in and outside of school time and check with the children each day to see how they are getting on. You could give a certificate to any children that do ALL of the activities on the calendar, or talk about the children that have made the most progress with the activities and mention them in assemblies. Encourage the children to keep doing the activities during the school holidays and beyond. There is no reason why the teachers can’t join in with some of the activities too! We hope you have fun doing them and would love to hear about the how the children get on and would value your feedback on it.

London Youth Games are a unique season of events at the heart of youth sport in London. It has been London's favourite youth sports competition since 1977, when it was launched to mark the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Since then, borough teams have competed on an annual basis for the Jubilee Trophy as the event has grown into Europe's largest annual youth sports event. In 2019, we are looking forward to hosting 99 school and community competitions, delivered by 4,000 volunteers across 33 sports. The Games will involve young people aged 7-19 from 33 London borough teams and around 1,000 schools. 3 ? GamesForce is our volunteer programme (age 16+) which allows you to get involved and be part of the action at London Youth Games. It provides you with the opportunity to learn new skills, enhance your experience and be part of a fantastic team. Without our volunteers, London Youth Games couldn’t run. Last year over 4000 volunteers contributed to the Games! Sport Type of roles: Registration and Results; Officials (in many of the 30 sports); Assisting with the competition. Events Type of roles: Medal ceremonies; Results collection; Event support; Event & Information Hub; Hospitality. It looks at the strategy adopted by the Sports Development Team to increase the level of individual and team performance in the games and provides targets for next year. FOR INFORMATION 1. BACKGROUND 1.1. At its meeting on 11 September 2000 the former Youth and Continuing Education Committee considered a report on the London Youth Games. The report advised Members that the overall result in the games was disappointing with the Royal Borough only achieving 30 th place out of 33 London boroughs. 1.2. The Committee was advised that at a meeting of the Council on 19 July 2000 it was agreed to: ‘review current facilities with the aim of increasing the resources available to broaden our participation in the Youth Games next year and throughout this century.’ 1.3. The Sports Development Team subsequently undertook a full analysis of each sporting activity in the games. The analysis attempted to identify strengths and weaknesses, available resources and facilities and what action would need to be taken to significantly improve performance. 1.4. At its meeting on 30 October 2000, the Youth and Continuing Education Committee agreed targets for the London Heathrow Youth Games 2001. The targets were ambitious and provided the Sports Development Team with a demanding work plan in order to significantly improve performance.

    Let us hear your compliments, suggestions or complaints: www.orleanspark.richmond.sch.uk/contact-us Weekly Entries to Website: Sixth Form Open Evening Year 7 Exam Week Timetable Tuesday 25 June 2013 London Youth Games - May 2013 Trials flyer 6pm – 9pm From the Headteacher GCSE Drama Showcase Last week the Year 11 GCSE Drama pupils performed their group examination pieces to an audience of friends and family as a final preparation for the actual GCSE examination the following day. This year the examination brief was to create a performance that would make the audience ‘think’, and the result was some very hard-hitting pieces. The pupils worked incredibly hard to perfect their plays, coming in at weekends and spending time after school rehearsing. It certainly paid off as the quality of the performances was simply outstanding and it was a hugely enjoyable evening. My thanks go to Ms Smith and Ms Davies, assisted by Mr Flowerdew, who gave up considerable amounts of time to direct and rehearse the pupils. Year 11 Leavers As the main written examinations approach we shall be formally saying goodbye to our Year 11 pupils this Friday. There will be a final assembly in the morning and then the pupils will start their formal study leave. As in previous years an extensive revision programme has been planned for the run-up to the examinations and during the examination period. A number of key pupils have been asked to attend school as normal, whilst others may choose a more flexible approach. Year 10 Pupils Our Year 10 pupils had their end of year examinations last week and we were very impressed by their attitude and application.

    Primrose Hill Primary School PE Statement 2020 - 2021 Date: May 2020 Review: July 2021 1 Primrose Hill Primary School PE Premium Funding Statement 2019 - 20 The government is providing additional funding to improve the provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools – this is allocated based on the number of children in Year 1 – 6. Last year the government once again allocated extra funds for the PE premium; this meant we have received two amounts - £8,129 & £11,404 totalling £19,533. The PE Premium funding is used to continually improve PE and Sport Provision across the school. Since the introduction of the PE premium in 2014 this has meant a huge success in raising attainment in PE and we will continue to build on our provision again this year. At Primrose Hill we already prioritise PE and sport in our budget to enhance children’s participation, involvement and attainment in PE; however, this additional sum contributes a significant amount for our school which so far has enabled us to develop the PE offer in our school.
