Tung, driving the No. 38 car for the Jackie Chan DC race team, placed second overall and first in the LMP2 class at the 85th running of Le Mans earlier this month. Mouser has been a strong supporter of Tung since 2011 as he challenged himself to cross over in various motorsports, including the IndyCar Series and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. The global distributor is once again participating in the 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship season. MEDIA INFORMATION November 2013 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship Round 7: 6 Hours of Shanghai Victory for the N°1 AUDI R18 e-tron quattro/MICHELIN, as Tom Kristensen/Loïc Duval/Allan McNish secure the 2013 WEC Drivers’ title After the torrential rain that forced the organisers to halt the recent 6 Hours of Fuji after just 16 laps, all spent behind the safety car, Audi Sport Team Joest and Toyota Motorsport GmbH were both eager to join battle once again this weekend in China. In contrast to the conditions encountered in Japan, the 6 Hours of Shanghai was marked by clear skies and warm weather (air temperature: approximately 25°C, and track temperatures up to 30°C) which enabled the teams to produce yet another thrilling show, with the outcome only settled with less than half-an-hour remaining. The pole-winning N°7 Toyota TS030-Hybrid of Wurz/Lapierre carved out an early lead, while the N°8 sister car – with Antony Davidson in command – engaged in a fight with André Lotterer in the N°1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro. On Lap 10, the British driver succeeded in finding a way past to ease into second place. The two Japanese prototypes then proceeded to dominate the top of the leaderboard until the eventful 143rd lap (190 laps completed in total). After 4½ hours of racing, the N°8 Toyota TS030-Hybrid was suddenly eliminated when its front- right suspension failed under barking for Turn 6. This promoted the N°1 Audi to second spot, approximately half-a-minute behind the N°7 Toyota, thanks to a strong stint from Benoît Tréluyer in the German car, as well as to a couple of time-consuming „moments‟ for the Japanese team‟s Nicolas Lapierre while overtaking slower competitors. -

Temperatures have gotten colder and teams continue to work to manage tires and traffic. Alessandro Pier Guidi was driving his second stint of the race at the six-hour mark and was in third position in the GTLM class before pitting on Lap 193 to turn the Ferrari 488 GTE over to teammate James Calado at the 6hr12min mark. A standard fuel, tires and driver change pit stop was performed by the Risi crew. Within 16 laps Calado was pitting for a top up on fuel and fresh tires after a caution was brought out and nearly all cars headed to pit lane. Although he exited the pits in P5 in the GTLM class, he continued to climb the timing charts and was soon leading the GTLM class. Calado pitted on Lap 239 at about 8hr40 minutes into the 24-hour race while leading to hand the car over to Italian Davide Rigon. -

Still, the situation will be completely new for each of them, as they’re forming a driver team for the first time. Oliver Jarvis has been driving for Audi since 2008 while Loïc Duval and Lucas di Grassi have been with the brand since 2012 – together, their time with the four rings amounts to 13 years. The generation change in Audi’s driver line-up is the reason why they now form a team for the first time. Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen and Dindo Capello, who spent between one and a half and two decades of their careers with Audi, have since retired from their active careers as race drivers. “This gave us the opportunity to combine the three younger talents into a new driver squad,” says Head of Audi Motorsport Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich. Loïc Duval already raced together with Lucas di Grassi last year. Oliver Jarvis, who in the past occupied the third cockpit in WEC races at Spa and at Le Mans, is now contesting all eight WEC rounds as a new regular driver for the first time. “This has always been my big aim. It’s a huge opportunity that I’m determined to make optimum use of together with Lucas and Loïc,” says the pleased 31-year-old Briton from Burwell, who had previously been active for Audi in the DTM for four years and clinched his first sports car victory in the Sebring 12 Hours two years ago. -

Wednesday 27 December 2017, St. Gallen, Switzerland – R-Motorsport has added former DTM ace Maxime Martin and Aston Martin factory driver Nicki Thiim to its 2018 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup lineup. Martin expands his new relationship with the renowned global marque brand by adding the Blancpain GT endurance events to his FIA WEC schedule while Thiim is an FIA World Endurance Championship GTE-Pro title winner for Aston Martin. R-Motorsport, the motorsport arm of AF Racing, has reinforced its committed relationship with Aston Martin with the addition of the Belgian and the Dane. AF Racing is also one of the three official partners of the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar project and has been announced official Aston Martin Valkyrie strategic partner. The team will partner established outfit Arden International. Founded by former racer and Red Bull Racing F1’s Christian Horner and his father Garry, Arden have achieved major success across multiple single-seater series including FIA Formula 2 and it will be run in conjunction with two-time Le Mans 24 Hours LMP2 winner Jota Sport.
