Longtime TCC Professor Closes Out Holocaust Education Week

Monte Finkelstein, longtime TCC Dean and Professor will close out the College’s Holocaust Education Week with a lecture entitled The Others on Friday, February 8. Alumni and friends of the College are invited to hear Finkelstein speak on the impact of Nazi policies on groups that threatened their concept of racial purity; including the mentally and physically handicapped, Roma, homosexuals, and Jehovah’s Witnesses, among others. The event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the TCC Workforce Development Ballroom. Attendees are asked to RSVP to [email protected].

TCC Basketball Teams Host Rival Gulf Coast

Both TCC Basketball teams enter the final two weeks of the season with an impressive record: the men are 20-4, while the women stand at 21-4. But both teams still face games against some of their arch rivals including Chipola College, at Chipola on February 13 and in Pensacola on February 19. For additional info on schedules, click HERE.

Fans are encouraged to come cheer on the Eagles in the Bill Hebrock Eagledome for their last two regular season home games:

Saturday, February 9 vs : Women at 3 p.m. and Men at 5 p.m.

Wednesday, February 20 vs Northwest State College: Women at 5:30 p.m. and Men at 7:30 p.m.

Art Show Opens February 21

Alumni and friends are invited to the public opening of Remembering Paradise Park; an exhibit of photographs by Bruce Mozert, on Thursday, February 21 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the TCC Fine Arts Gallery, FPAC Building. Used as illustrations for the Lu Vicker’s book of the same name, these images were taken by Mozert in his role as official photographer at Paradise Park. The exhibit is curtesy of The Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala and will run until March 28. Normal gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., but keep in mind that the gallery will be closed during TCC’s spring break, March 18 – 22.
